Review & Swatches: Maybelline Color Sensationals Vivids Lipstick #912 Electric Orange and 906 Hot Plum

Hi, girls!

Spring is finally here so I'm drawn now to really bright, colorful lips on a daily basis. If you've been reading me for a while you know that I'm not really the type of person that could wear brights (on the lips) that easily. In fact, my lip products collection has been formed over the past year and I dare say that now includes some colors that I would have never thought to wear, but as I decided to step out of my comfort zone, now I'm not so scared of these bright babies. The Maybelline Color Sensationals Vivids Lipsticks are among some of the most bright lip shades I own and love and they have some really great names too: Electric Orange and Hot Plum. What's not to love about them?

Maybelline lipsticks are my favorites since way back in my first years at college when I was not really wearing lipstick that often but when I did, it was always my beautifull Wooden Brown, which I repurchased 2-3 times since then and I'm still wearing it quite often.

The Vivids collection has a special ingredient, a true color pigment that gives full-on color and opacity and also full coverage and long wear. These lispsticks also include honey nectar so that they are really moisturising.

The package on these beauties is the standard Maybelline package for lipsticks: square golden tubes with bright colorful plastic lids. Not the best package in the world, but for the money is good enough and it's sturdy enough to resist throwing it into your purse.

Electric Orange is a bright neon mandarin orange.

Hot Plum is a fuchsia plum shade, actually more like a bright pink with some purple undertone.

The texture of both is very creamy and it has a slight sheen to it, which makes them really comfortable to wear while still providing great color pay off. They are not really long wearing but for moisturising lippies, there isn't really much expectation for long wear. On me, they stay on for about 4-5 hours without eating or drinking, actually even if the brightness dissapear after about 2 hours, they stain the lips a bit and the color remains for a couple of hours extra.

Overall, I really love these even if they aren't my typical lip shades and I'm even considering getting some more shades (Shocking Coral anyone?). They are perfect for spring and summer both for the color selection and the easy way they feel on the lips. And not to mention they brighten up any look.

These babies can be found at Maybelline's counters or online, look for them as they are often on sale and you might get them at an even better bargain. I purchased them both on sale for about 4.5 Euro each.

Are into bright colors this Spring, babes? Or you're still nude at heart?

Hey, ladies!

I'm really starting to like these makeup posts where I show you my humble attempts to do something pretty on my face. I still find that's difficult not to make strange faces when taking close-ups of my makeup, what can I tell you, I'm not really keen on being in front of a camera! But I'm working on that...

Now onto this makeup, this was done in a very big hurry last Friday (I think) before heading out for work. I'm kind of proud of myself that I've managed a decent eye look using only 3 eyeshadows and one of the is a pretty dark one. But it blended out unexpectedly nice. The rest of the face was really done in a hurry so nothing fancy here.

Review: Radiant Eyeshadow Base

Happy Friday, gals!

Hope you're all ready for weekend! Today I have for you a shortie, a quick review for one of my favorite products I use on a daily basis, the Radiant Eyeshadow Base. So this a drugstore eye primer, but boy, I may venture and say this is even better than my Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer.

It comes in this little (and incomfortable) little plastic jar, nothing fancy and really cheap looking. It looks very small, but it lasts forever, as you need a tiny amount for each lid. I use my finger or a flat concealer brush to get it out of there. It's not really hygienic but oh well, every product has its downsides...

It's basically an white cream that blends into the skin very quickly. It's slightly oily and it leaves a somewhat white sheen on the lid that neutralizes any discoloration or dark veins that you might be showing. It's not as proficient in that departement as TFSI Lemon Drop but it still works.

It has no glitter or shimmer, it's just a matte white cream. Now onto the effects, I have to say that it does the best job at stoping any kind of creasing on my eye makeup. I use it every time I go for a more dramatic eye wear, darker colors or if I need to keep my shades in places for a whole day and part of the night. I've been trying a lot of primers and even TFSI can upbeat Radiant Eyeshadow Base at long staying power. It can literally go through sweat, warm weather or even a little rain without creasing and smudging.

In the photo below, you can see how much more intense the eyeshadow looks on top of this base. I have a lot of eyeshadows thar look great in the pan but no so great on the eye, the intensity is missing and the color payoff. This base brings them all together.

No primer, on top of primer

This can found at any Radiant counter, I have seen a bunch of these in some local stores in Bucharest. I can't find it online but here's their website, Radiant Cosmetics is a Greek cosmetics brand.

Hello, girls!

Today I have ANOTHER look for you in some neutral, earty tones which to be honest is more apropriate for the fall not spring, but hey, the weather is cheating so I am too because even though pastels are like the new thing for me, I love my neutrals (taupes, darks, browns) to death.

Review & Swatch: NYX The Curve Eyeliner Pen

$

Hi!

I've been using this little guy here for quite some time so that I've already formed my opinion of it and I'm ready to share it with you! NYX The Curve Eyeliner Pen is inspite of the weird form, a liquid eyeliner pen which should make application really easy for beginners or just for people that want to do their eyeliner faster. Is not an one of kind type of product, other brands have come up with their own version of this "curved" eyeliner such as  Sephora or Milani.

Now, the package itself is just the whole point of this product and unfortunately I really don't think it worth the money. Call me traditional, but for me "the curve" of the product while it does makes application somewhat easier, is not some rocket science that should worth spending 15$. I mean it's nice and everything but the felt tip is deterioring just as rapidly as a normal felt tip eyeliner and the quantity of actual product is really small comparing with the actual size of it. I've been using it for some time now and I feel it's going to be over anytime soon, which I don't really like considering the price and the fact that I haven't been using it on a daily basis.

The product itself is great, it's black, it's very opaque, it dries between mat and bright, the formula is perfect, not too light or too heavy. By itself, it's a great eyeliner for thin or thick lines.

Here's a couple of looks I did with this eyeliner, I absolutely love its staying power (12 H+), it doesn't smudge or fade...

Overall, I have mixed feelings with this as I love the consistancy and the formula, but I don't feel like it worths the money. Besides it's not really that helping or a long time investment, as the felt tip destroys a little to rapidly for my taste. I'll probably won't repurchase it, maybe only if I find it in some great offer.

It can be find online (Cherry Culture, The Makeup Shop (RO), Ulta, Beauty Joint) or in all stores that carry NYX (Ulta, CVS, Target etc).

Happy 1st of May everyone!

Hope you're having a great time today and if you're in for a mini-vacation, even better! Here's a look I did last week for work and dinner with friends afterwards, so kind of a day-into-night look, using orange and brown shades. I'm more and more into orange eyeshadows, especially this kind of burnt orange shade, I don't really know why I didn't play more with before, but now I'm almost wearing an orange look on a weekly basis. What kind of eye look are into right now?

April's Haul

Hi, girls!

I was good last month, very good! I was that good that I've received as a gift from my lovely boyfriend the infamous Urban Decay Naked Palette which I'm sure it doesn't need any presentation. The rest were only things I really needed and maybe a couple of splurges here and then. Let's dig in!

  • Balea Totes Meer Salz Dusche, ~1.5 Euro, DM - I love Balea bath products so this orange and salt shower gel is the perfect way to freshen up in the mornings.
  • Balea Relax Dusche Abend Rot, ~1.5 Euro, DM - Just another great smelling shower gel with rose scent!
  • Deb Instant Foam Hand Sanitiser, ~1.5 Euro, local store - This little guy is great for a quick hand sanitising and also for a quick cleaning for my brushes.
  • My Body Ocean Salt Peeling Coconut, ~2 Euro, Billa - I had the magnolia scent before and it was a great scrub.
  • Wet Hankies Antibacterial wipes, ~2 Euro, Auchan - I think they are self explaining!
  • Dove Hair Therapy Damage Solutions Hair Fall Control Conditioner, ~2.5 Euro, Cora - I bought this on a whim and I actually love it, it moisturise my hair so well. For the hair fall control, I don't know what to say...
  • Balea Trend It Up Spray-on Trocken-shampoo, ~2.5 Euro, DM - I was out of dry shampoo and decided to try this one. It's kind of white on my hair but it works pretty well.
  • Nivea Acqua Effect Mattifying Day Care SPF 15, ~3.5 Euro, Cora - I had this day moisturiser before and I liked it so I repurchased it to use it untill My Paula's Choice Hydralight moisturiser arrives.
  • Auchan Extreme Makeup Remover for eyes and lips, ~2 Euro, Auchan - I couldn't find my beloved byphase makeup remover from Farmec so I bought this one.
  • Dove Go Fresh 48 H Cucumber & Green Tea Scent Anti-Perspirant Deodorant, ~1.5 Euro, local store - I loved the Beauty Finish one so I gave this one a try as I love the scent of the same body wash from Dove.
  • Rimmel London Match Perfection Light Perfecting Radiance Foundation SPF 18 #103 True Ivory, ~6 Euro, DM - I was in a quest for a new foundation and between all the mat ones, I found myself wishing for this dewy one.
  • Revlon Photoready Concealer #Light Medium, ~6 Euro, Auchan - Again, Youtube made me buy it! Tati described it as a great undereye concealer and I couldn't resist. And I love it, it's moisturising but still opaque.

  • Urban Decay Naked Palette, gift - No comments here just that I loooove her!

  • W7 Liquid Eyeliner, gift - My friend didn't like it as she says it's too shiny so she gave it to me.
  • Rimmel London Eyeliner Gel #001 Black, ~5 Euro, DM - I didn't need another blanc eyeliner gel but hey, I just needed it to try it out!
  • Astor Fashion Studio Nail Lacquer #280 Mysterious Dawn, ~1.5 Euro, DM - I used it for my Easter mani and I love it so much, it's the perfect red-orange shade.
  • Maybelline Colorama Stripped Nudes Nail Polish, ~2 Euro, DM - It's sparkly, it's nude, perfect for the seasons to come.
  • Orly Nail Polish #Beach Cruiser, gift - My boyfriend surprised me with this one.

  • Just Cosmetics Jumbo Eyeshadow/Lip Pencil #25, ~1.5 Euro, local store - I was curious to try out this new cosmetic brand so I've picked up this 2 pencils. This jumbo one is the perfect plum-taupe shade.
  • Just Cosmetics Soft Liner Pencil #15, ~1.5 Euro, local store - A great deep burgundy plum shade, great both for lips and for eyes.
  • Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer #Nude Eclipse, ~3.5 Euro, DM - Apocalips have finally arrived in Romania so I had to take advantanges of the sales and I've purchased this nude shade which I've been wearing a lot this month.
  • Elmiplant Smooth Feet Moisturising Heel Cream with avocado butter and peppermint, ~2 Euro, DM - I like the smell of this foot cream and it's so light, great for summer!
  • S.he Stylezone Mono Eyeshadow #163/025, ~2 Euro, DM - It's more of a light wash of color and very shimerry but I love this nontheless.

Favorites of the moment (April 2014)

Happy Sunday, everyone!

You know the drill, last months' favorites are here! April was all about trying new neutral looks with the help of my new Urban Decay Naked Pallete and bright lips but also darker eye looks all paired up with light nude lips.

In april I've establised myself a new hair care routine with the help of Dove Hair Therapy Damage Solutions Hair Fall Control Conditioner which moisturises my hair like no other hair conditioner, and Schwarzkopf Gliss Ultimate Oil Elixir Express Repair Conditioner which have done wonders for my split ends.

Garnier Essentials Refreshing Cleansing Milk for normal to combined skin with detoxing grape extract was my go to makeup remover last month. I like it a lot, it's fresh and it cleanse up my skin so well from all the makeup, even the waterproof one.

Elmiplant Smooth Feet Moisturising Heel Cream with avocado butter and peppermint is a very light cream for my feet but moisturising enough to soften up the rough skin on my heels that's the bane of my existance.

The highlight of my month was receiving Urban Decay Naked Palette as a gift. The eyeshadows are all that I've dreamed of: pigmented, creamy, easy to blend and very resistant. I won't tire of it very soon as there are so many possibilities to play it. Flormar Pretty Eyes Compact Quartet Eyeshadow #45 was rediscovered in my collection and I decided to use it more as it has some nice warm neutral shades. Other singles that got lots of love from me last month were ELF Baked Eyeshadow #Bark, a dark taupe/plum/bronze shade, NYX Single Eyeshadow #True Taupe, a light brown/taupe great as a transition shade, L'Oreal Colour Infallible Eyeshadow #006 All Night Blue, a dark blue/navy eyeshadow and S.he Stylezone Mono Eyeshadow #163/025, a shimmery mint.

My go to blush in April was an old love, Oriflame Beauty Blush Touch Duo #Pink blush which is the perfect light pink blush shade which goes so well with every makeup look. NYX The Curve Liquid Eyeliner has been in my collection for a couple of months but I've been wearing it on a daily basis just last month and I've grown quite fond of it. Since I've received it from Iherb, EcoTools Custom Coverage Buffing Brush has been my favorite foundation brush and in April, I've really put it to work everyday. I dare say I like even more than my realTechniques Expert Face Brush.

Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Combination to Oily Skin #Medium was a pleasant rediscovery, even though it's a little darker than my skin tone, it blends so well and the cover power it's really good for a BB Cream. Lately, I've been experimenting more with concealers for highlighting my face and Rimmel London Wake Me Up Anti Fatigue Effect and Radiant Glow Concealer #Classic Beige is great for that. A new addition is Revlon Photoready Concealer #Light Medium, a stick concealer that it blends so well and hides my dark circles and other imperfections like a dream.

Maybelline Color Sensationals Vivids Lipstick #912 Electric Orange and 906 Hot Plum were my go to lipsticks for bright colors last month and they will be for the whole summer. For less bolder makeup looks, my choices of lipsticks were Milani Color Statement Lipstick #Nude Creme and Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick #Lust for blush, the perfect nude/pink shades.

Nothing can beat the NYX Butter Glosses in Peaches and Cream and Strawberry Parfait which were great for just a wash of color on the lips. Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer #Nude Eclipse is a new one in my collection and I fell in love with it imediatelly. The perfect nude.

Astor Fashion Studio Nail Lacquer #280 Mysterious Dawn was my favorite nail polish last month, I've wear it twice, including for Easter. It's the perfect red/orange shade, great for the warm seasons.

LOTD: Glam Look for Everyday

Happy Monday!

For those days when I need more color in my life but still didn't want to go overboard with my makeup, I put together a quick look which is a little more glammed up than my usual neutral self. For this type of look, I like to do a soft but still intense eye look using some neutral warm shades and a ticker line of black eyeliner, paired with a natural blush and a more intense lip color. For this look, I choose to use a lipstick from Avon that I've kind of neglected, but which is very pretty in the nuance Tea Rose. It's a rosey-mauve-redish color in person, even though on the camera it appears more red than mauve.

Dissapointing Beauty Items

$
0
0
Hello, girls!

Prepare yourselves because this will be a loong post as I decided to talk about all dissapointing products I have in my collection at the moment, both makeupwise and skincare/haircare. I really don't like talking bad of beauty products because they don't necessarely  are but they don't work for me so if I have the opportunity to let you know these kind of dissapointing stuff I tried over the time, I want to do it. Let's dig in, shall we?

Alverde Naturkosmetik Intensiv Handcreme Granatapfel Karitebutter should have been the replacement for my beloved Cera di Cupra hand cream, but I don't like it at all. It's sooo greasy and tacky and no matter how well I'm rubbing it into my hands it just "sits" on top of my skin. And the smell is not really my cup of tea, but that would be nothing if the actual cream would work. I'm still trying to use it from time to time when my hands are really dry and also on my heels, but only before going to bed. And in the morning I feel my hands are still greasy. Mosturised, but greasy.

I've purchased Garnier Ultra Doux Softening Conditioner Aloe Vera and Vegetable Milk a while ago thinking that it would soften my hair a bit as my current shampoo does dries it to some extent. But I feel it makes my hair so oily and I don't really use on my roots, just the ends. I've tried a couple of ways of application and it doesn't work for me unfortunately so it will probably end up as cream shave.

Anian Natural Hair Conditioner Cream was a purchase a couple of months ago for the same moisturising reason but it doesn't do anything to my hair. As the bottle is 1000 ml I've figured it out I could use it as cream shave or in-shower moisturiser.

I had high expectations for the Cyclax Cocoa Butter & Wallnut Exfoliating Body Scrub but the formula is so wrong! It's too thin and runny and particles are kind of sparse that I really have to work to get the proper exfoliation done. I love thicker scrubs that get the job done with little effort so this one is a pass for me.

No it's not the actual Urban Decay Naked 2 palette that dissapointed me but the FAKE one! I've bought it from Ebay for about 20 Euro and the seller assured me it's the real one but he gets them cheaper because he buys them from a wholeseller. I kind of knew that this was not authentic but I wanted it very much so I took the risk. Big mistake! I mean it pretty much looks the same as the original Naked 2 but the quality of the eyeshadows is showing big flaws.

They are gritty and chalky, the color pay off is not what I expected, the eyeshadows all come with a metallic finish and some of them have large glitter particles inside. I mean I still use them in combination with other eyeshadows but they aren't really what I wanted. I have also the original Naked 1 palette so I could do the difference in quality.

Fake Naked 2 Half Baked, Naked 1 Half Baked

Here's an example: the shade Half Baked is in both palettes but the difference is obvious. The original eyeshadow is creamy, intense and very smooth while the fake one obviously misses the intensity and smoothness of the real Half Baked.

I love Wet n Wild eyeshadows, they are so smooth and creamy, but these duos here are really a miss. They are called Wet n Wild Duo Eyeshadows in Light Brown & Brown and Lilac & Violet. The colors look great in the pan but in reality they are among the worst eyeshadows in my collection.

Light Brown & Brown are really patchy eyeshadows, the color pay off is not great and they don't blend well at all. Plus, they fade even on top of primer or eyeshadow base.

Lilac & Violet are so dry and have the least amount of intensity that I can't even make them show on the skin, dry or wet. I had to rub very hard to even get them on my fingertips.

ELF Endless Eyes 100 Eyeshadow Palette was kind of an expected dissapointment as I kind of knew that these weren't the greatest eyeshadows. Usually when drugstore brands put together these huge eye palettes, usually they aren't the best but they are workable. I like most of ELF Eyeshadows, especially the baked ones, but from this huge palette I have a hard time to find some decent pigmented eyeshadows. I mean I'm still using them but I'm definitely not fond of these eyeshadows.

I was drawn to the beautiful shades of the LA Colors Eye Design Palette, but I feel they aren't very good quality. They are soft and decently pigmented, but the fall out is pretty massive and all the shades have an overspray of glitter on top. The thing that actually makes me want to pass up this palette is the smell! It's so annoying!

I had these Oriflame Giordani Gold eye Pearls #Smoky Quartz for a while now and while I was really intrigued in the begining of the idea of eyeshadow pearls they are really not a good idea, at least not for me. First of all, it's very hard to pick up the color on any eyeshadow brush, you really need to dig into them or to partially crush them to get some decent color. Second, even if they are a few shades of grey and silver, all of them show up like an white shimmer on the skin.

Essence Stay All Day Long Lasting Eyeshadow #01 Coppy Right was a purchase from a blogsale a while ago and I thought of it as a more affordable dupe for Maybelline's Color Tattoo in On and on bronze (and dedicated them a post here), it dried out so quickly and all my efforts to revive it were in vain. The product itself was not the worst, but I hate when creamy products dry up so fast.

I wanted to love this eyeliner gel so much, you know my addiction to these little pots, but Sephora Cream Eyeshadow and Liner #Purple night let me down so badly. I mean I love the color, it looks great in the small jar but on the skin the formula is just bad. It's patchy, it's way too tick and I can't make it even on the eyes with any of my brushes. Such a dissapointment!

Flormar Eyeliner Pen was a total fail from the begining, the felt tip is too dry no matter the position I store it and the black is more of a grey that show up really faded on the skin.

Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base is a product that I've looking forward to try and it let me down from the first use because it doesn't work at all. It's great for neutralizing any veins on my lids but everything I put on my eyes it creases like hell on top of this one.

I've recently talked about Rimmel London Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer so some of you already know why this one made it to the black list. It's simply not working. At all!

Bourjois Elastic Unlimited Mascara is not really a dissapointment for me but I don't consider it very good also. Lately, I've been using it only for my lower lashes because it separates and gives them a little definition, but on it's own it doesn't do much for my eyelashes. It all blackens them and gives them a little definition, but no volume and lenghtening.

L'Oreal Volume Millions Lashes Waterproof Mascara is my first L'Oreal mascara and I'm not impressed at all. Again, it doesn't do almost anything for my lashes, no volume, no curl, no lenghtening. Too bad!

W7 Deluxe Eyebrow Pencil #Dark Brown was actually a favorite of mine when i first started to use but then I had to sharpen it. And the whole pencil inside was breaking into pieces that I had to sharpen half of the pencil and still looks awful. I'm so dissapointed with this one!

In the brushes department, I had mainly 2 brushes that I'm not very happy with: Essence Eyeshadow Brush and Estee Lauder Lip Brush.  The eyeshadow brush from Essence is way to small and doesn't pick product as it should have, and it's not dense enough that the finish of the eye look to be impecable. The lip brush from Estee Lauder is really not great for applying any kind of lip products, it's too big and too stif and it doesn't give too much control to have a flawless lip contour.

ELF Jumbo Lip Gloss #Tiki Torches was a let down since the moment I've seen the amount of gold large glitter. I mean bronzy lips and everything but after it dries out on the lips all I'm left with are a lot of golden glitter particles around my mouth. Not cute!

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain+Balm #Fate is probably the biggest dissapointment in the lip products departement. I mean not only the color is really off, but the formula really sucks! It's so patchy and it sets imediatelly in the fine lines, just imagine rubbing a marker to your lips.

Ivatherm Nourishing and Repairing Lip Balm is actually not a bad product, I just hate the way it feels on the lips. And the ball applicator doesn't help either. I mean it has a fruity scent and it moisturises but it's so tick on the lips and the fact that I have to spread it out with the damn applicator makes me pass it up on a regular basis.

Hi, guys!

We all love fancy outfits and those statement pieces that transform any boring look into a cool one, but what about those daily outfits? I don't own way too many over the top fancy clothing pieces but I sure love my basics and I have a lot of them. Actually, almost every shopping trip includes the purchase of some T-shirts, pants, dresses or any other clothing pieces really basic. My whole style is actually built around basics, as I feel most comfortable and myself when wearing basics plus a statement piece that's the surprize element of the whole outfit. Here are some great basics that I would happilly wear on an every day basis.

Review : Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Hello!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is pretty new on the market of micellar lotion and I couldn't miss the opportunity to test it out when I saw it on sale at DM. First impression? It's a BIG bottle, 400 ml that should last for 200 uses. I don't really think it will last me for 200 uses, but it surely lasts for a good amount of time. I've been trying these micellar lotions for a while now and I find them a great way to take off your makeup, without much fuss. For the face, they are great, is just like putting water, and for the eyes and lips I use a micellar lotion only I have a light makeup on. For eyeliner and waterproof mascara, I always use an  oil base makeup remover.

The packaging is really appealing, a large bottle with a pink cap and the dosage orifice is rather small, so no spillings or wastings there. With L'Oreal Sublime Soft, the orifice was too big and a lot of product was getting out.

The formula is adequate for sensitive skin so it contains no irritating substances and no perfume. On the skin, it feels just like water, no tacky or greasy sensation afterwards. It doesn't sting my eyes either which other brands do. It's really eficient to remove makeup of any kind on the face and lips and light makeup on the eyes. It's been told that this is a perfect dupe for Bioderma Sensibio H2O, I can't afirm or infirm it as I didn't try out the famous Bioderma micellar water.

The price is also apealling if we count how big this bottle is, about 5 Euro full price. So all in all I have a feeling that I'll rebuy it again as soon as it's finished. It's got a 10 from me!

Review: Dove Go Fresh Cucumber and Green Tea Scent

Hi, guys!

Today is all about my favorite bath and body care products ever, all from Dove's range Go Fresh Cucumber and Green Tea Scent. Dove is my favorite brand for a long time when it comes to body washes, liquid soaps, body care and deodorants. I absolutely love all their ranges, the flavours are all delicious and effect on the skin is also delicious to say the least.

The cucumber and green tea scent flavoured products are my favorite for a long time, I've been purchasing the body wash for at least 7-8 times even though I am a body washes freak and I always have at least 5-6 different ones in my bath. The scent is so clean and fresh and I couldn't find it in any other body wash, at least not at this intensity. The scent is not as powerful for the spray deodorant and for the roll-on,  but it's still fresh and you can catch the specific scent.

Dove Go Fresh Nourishing Shower Gel Cucumber & Green Tree Scent is definitely one of my favorites body washes. Not only the fresh cucumber scent is what I love most, but also the way it feels. It's not actually a shower gel, is more like a shower cream that transforms into a mousse when I lather it into my loofa. The best is the moisturising effect it has on my skin which I can't achieve with other body wash. It's not a superficial moiture effect but really a in depth one that I still feel during the day. I don't even need to use body cream afterwards.

Dove Go Fresh Anti-Transpirant Deodorant Cucumber and Green Tea Scent is a roll-on type deodorant from the same range. The scent is similar, just not as powerful, but equally fresh. It's a nice roll-on deo, it holds pretty well and it doesn't leave white marks on my clothes. I just have to wait 2 minutes after applying it before putting my clothes on because it has an white creamy-gel texture that feels wet on the skin. That's a downside even though lately I've been more into roll-on deodorants rather than stick deodorants.

In terms of resistance, it holds up pretty well the entire day, but it's not great for sport activities that involve perspiration and work out. For me it's pretty decent and I would probably buy it again as the fresh scent is great for summer.

Dove Go Fresh Spray Anti-transpirant Deodorant Cucumber & Green Tea Scent is a new addition, I'm not very much into spray deodorants only when I work out, because I feel they keep me dry which a roll-on or stick deodorant can't achieve. So I only buy one when the one I'm using is empty. I always try to test new ones so that I can have a variety from what to choose. The fresh cucumber and green tea scent is definitely there, so it's great in that department. Otherwise, this is a cheap and effective spray deodorant, no white rezidues or wetness. Even after working out for a full hour and I'm looking like crazy and sweating, I'm still nice smelling which is always a plus.

LOTD: Dewy Skin and Baby Pink

Hi, guys!

Pink is like the new black for me nowadays and I don't know how I get to put on my face something pink almost every other day, I swear! i was more like a neutral type of girl, but since Spring came to town, I'm just like :"Let the colors flow!'. That being said, here's my baby pink look, paired with a somewhat dewy skin. I'm all for matte, porcelain skin, as I'm naturally oily, but from time to time, I like to add a little glow to my cheeks.

Review: Nature's Gate Biotin Strenghtening Shampoo

Hello!

Those of you who read me know that I changed my haircare routine quite a bit in the last 6 months as I was not satisfied at all with the state of my hair and especially the incresing hair loss and scalp itchiness. My first Iherb order was mainly for getting a shampoo with natural ingredients that won't harm my hair and scalp and help fight the issues I had. So I came to purchase Nature's Gate Biotin Strenghtening Shampoo which it's almost finished at the moment I'm writting this review and I have another backup in my drawer as my second Iherb order just arrived this week.

Here's what it claims to do:
"Natures Gate Biotin Shampoo helps fortify weak hair. Utilizing Biotin , an array of fortifying amino acids and our nurturing 7 healthy hair nutrients, this shampoo helps hair look and feel stronger, vibrant and full of life.
Exclusive healthy hair blend includes panthenol, soy proteins, vegetable proteins, jojoba oil, borage flower seed oil, vitamin C and vitamin E.
  • B vitamins, biotin, folic acid and niacin are well known for their important role in hair health
  • Jojoba oil helps restore the natural moisture level of hair
  • Panthenol (vitamin B5) and soy protein help fortify hair
  • Vegetable proteins condition and moisturize, helping to diminish the appearance of split ends."

I was drawn to it for a couple of reasons: the biotin that should help with the hair loss, the good ingredients that should insure a gentle cleaning, it adresses to fragile, thin hair (such as mine) and the very good price (5.47$/532 ml).

The packaging is actually kind of great : big, white, round bottle with a cap that opens kind of hard (it screwed my nail polish a couple of times:D), but that protects it from spilling during shipping all the way from USA to Romania.

The formula is different from other shampoos I've tried onver the time, as it's not liquidy or creamy, but more like a tacky clear-yellow gel. The scent is herbally, almost like mint, not very appealing but for me this is not an issue. What I've noticed from the first use is that it doesn't make too much mouse and I need a larger amount than usual to lather my hair throughly.

My hair was on the oily side, with my roots becoming greasy from the second day, but ever since using this shampoo, it almost dried out my hair if not for using a conditioner, hair mask and leave-in treatment. It's not really a bad thing, more because now I wash my hair every 3 days, whilst I used to wash it every 2 days. The perfect formula for me is to use a conditioner before or after and a leave in treatment.

The itchiness and small scalp flakes have gone after the first use, so I'm really impressed as this was the main reason for which I switched from Wella Proffessionals shampoos.Ever since I've started using it, I've noticed some improvements in the hair fall department so I know it's working, slowly, but it's working.

The state of my hair has changed towards what I want and while I know it's a combination of various products that I use, this shampoo had its fair contribution. It looks much healthier and strong, it's shiny and it's easier to style it. If you're in need of a change in your haircare routine, you should give it a try, you can find it online here.

Fashion Trend: Studs

Hi, guys!

I think everyone of us has at least one pair of studded boots or studded leather jackets in their wardrobe. Studs have become a staple in any fashion lover's collection as they can give that "tough" element to any piece of clothing. Even for those fashionistas that adopt a more feminine style, studs can make room in their respective wardrobes as the posibilities to pair them are endless.

For me studs are a reminder of good old rockers' outfits which I used to admire, and while I'm not by any means a "rock girl", I love combining different pieces from diferents styles to creat a more eclectic way of dressing (and living).

Here are some studded clothing pieces that are statement pieces in my opinion and should be found in any fashion lover closet:

Happy Friday!

I might have raided the new Inglot store these days and got some goodies to put to the test, goodies you'll all see in my coming haul. For today's look I've used a duchrome pigment from Inglot in combination to Duraline, in order to create a fun and unusual eyeliner. I kept the rest very simple and paired it with a soft coral lip. Unfortunatelly, the photos don't do justice to this unique and beautiful pigment. If inside de the jar you can catch some brown and blue colors, on my eyes it's more like a spectrum of colors depending on the light. Because of the blitz, you can only see green and brown specks, but on day light the colors are from acqua green to the most beautiful shade of violet. I received so many compliments on this eyeliner and everyone wanted to know  where to get it!

Review: Elmiplant Skin Moisture 24h Moisturizing Day Cream

$

Hello, ladies!

You know I've been raving about how oily my skin gets and how it sucks to have combo skin... Well that doesn't mean I don't have my dry skin patches. I often get dry skin patches and flakiness around my cheeks and mouth. My skin still needs a lot of hydration so one of my daily skincare staples is the moisturizing day cream from Elmiplant who claims to balance skin's moisture and to provide long lasting action.

First of all the packaging is really nice: large glass jar with a light green lid. I must say that for how inexpensive this moisturiser is, I was expecting a really cheap packaging.

Elmiplant is one of my favorite Romanian cosmetic brands and I tested many of their skincare and bodycare products to know that they are getting strong on the market. I am amazed how much I enjoy this moisturizer as the formula is really light, non-greasy, great for combo skin as it won't enhance my oily T-zone. The majority of moisturisers are adressed to dry skin types so finding a moisturizer that won't make me look like a light bulb is kind of hard.

Even if it's a day cream, I often use it at night, after applying a BHA exfoliant as I feel it works better this way, in the mornings I wake up with my face really soft and no dry patches in sight. The only downside I find for tihs moisturiser is the fact that it doesn't contain a SPF so I can't use it on its own during the day.

Being so fast absorbing makes it great as a makeup base especially when I'm in hurry. Even my boyfriend uses it as a moisturiser, he says it reduces its fine lines and dark circles under the eyes :D.

One thing that makes us loving it so much is the smell, it literally smells like quince nectar, which is one of the main natural ingredients, very fresh and fruity.

For being such an inexepensive moisturiser, I have to say that I won't look for another alternative for quite some time, as I don't feel like going after a high-end product or a more expensive drugstore moisturiser when I have this one at hand.
