Review: Revlon Liquid Quick Dry

$
0
0
Hello!

I bought this thinking it would be a quick dry top coat but it's actually only a liquid that I put on top of my manicure to quick dry my nail polisg so it's not a top coat. Revlon also makes a quick dry top coat, but I heard it kind of makes one's nail polish crack.

First of all, let me tell you I love the packaging (big cap to hold on to, classic mat glass jar), but I hate the brush. It's so tiny and annoying. I get that this isn't like nail polish texture, but even for a liquid this doesn't work too well. The texture is very oily and runny, so a bit of attention is needed.

It does dry fast any nail polish and any excess that gets on the cuticles and around the nails can be either easily wiped off or absorbed into the skin. The smell is quite lovely, very zesty and lemon like, nothing like the usual nail polish scent.

Overall, I'm kind of on the fence with this little guy. On one hand, the brush is annoying the hell out of me, but the product itself is good, it does the job done. Not to mention that it lasts for an eternity, as I've used for at least 2 months now and it doesn't even show any signs of usage. If I ever run out of this, I'll repurchase it again if Revlon changes the stupid brush.

Hi!

Last weekend I did a cat eye makeup look for a day out using only matte neutral shades all from Sleek Au Naturel palette for the eyes and a bright fuchsia plum lip. I kept the eyes from going really smoked out as I wanted to be able to wear this look in daytime without feeling too dramatic.I rediscovered for this look an old love, the Sleek Ink Pot, which is probably the most intense mat black gel liner I own. And it goes perfectly with these dark mat eyeshadows.

Review: Schwarzkopf Gliss Ultimate Oil Elixir Express Repair Leave In Conditioner

Hello, ladies!

Me and Gliss haircare products have a long history, there was a time when I used only Gliss products for my hair a couple of years ago when I was not into blogging (and beauty that much). I was pretty attached to their shampoos and hair treatments but then I got caught into trying out new products so it wasn't until recently that I decided to pick this leave-in oil type conditioner. And I'm glad I did!

First of all, let's talk packaging. Like most leave-in conditioners, it comes in the form of a hair spray in a plastic bottle with a black plastic lid. Nothing too impressive but for a drugstore hair product, it's really alright. The golden wrap is also a nice addition.

It's formulated as a byphasic hair treatment that should be shaken before use to mix the two liquids inside. Here's what it claims to do:

"- Easy spray application.
- For luxurious shine and nourishment throughout the day.
- Lightweight formula, does not weigh hair down.
- Spritz for on the go - leave in your handbag or office drawer."

One thing I first loved about this leave-in conditioner is the smell. I can't really put my finger to it but it smells great, not too sweet or too fresh, is more like a clean flavour. I also love the effect it has on my hair, which is a lot smoother and healthy looking since using this conditioner. It claims to deeply repair the hair and to make it less prone to breakage. I wouldn't  exactly know about that as my hair doesn't really break, I have more problems with hair loss which lately is way better by the way.

It quicky absorbs into the hair, it doesn't make it greasy or take away from the volume, it's just like a "happy" serum for my hair which can get a little too dry sometimes. Overall, I really like it even though it's not a really impressive hair care treatment, it's more the type of product that you can't really tell what it does but once you stop using it, you miss it. I would surely repurchase it again...

And it's really budget friendly!

May's Haul

$

Hi, ladies!

Beginning of a new month equals to last month's haul! As much I love hauls (and I love them a LOT), the months to come will include smaller hauls including only the necessities as I'm going on a very tight budget given my recent acquisition, my very own appartement! So unfortunately my beauty obsessions have to give in for a while for more urgent matters... On that sad note, let's dive in May's haul!

  • Dove Go Fresh Nourishing Shower Gel Cucumber and Green Tea Scent - I wrote a post on this range from Dove so you already must know how much I love the scent but also this shower gel itself.
  • Dove Go Fresh Cucumber and Green Tea Scent Spray Deodorant - It was included in the same post as the body wash, it's become my favorite spray deodorant.

  • Garnier Fructis Style Brilliance Flex & Hold Hairspray - My beloved Nivea hairspray is almost done so I thought to give this one a try.
  • Nature's Gate Strenghtening Biotin Shampoo - At the begininng of May I received my second order from Iherb.com, and the main reason for that order was to repurchase this shampoo which has become my favorite.
  • VO5 Gloss Me Smoothly Conditioner & VO5 Revive Me Daily Conditioner - I heard good things about VO5 haircare products, so when I found these 2 conditioners, I thought to give them a try.
  • Kallos Carotta Hair Treatment - Oldie but goldie! Kallos hair treatments are so inexepensive and they work wonders so I purchased this one with carrot extract for oily and damaged hair.

  • Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel - I repurchased my favorite cleanser as now I share it with my boyfriend so it doesn't last as long as before.
  • Reviva Labs Eye Gelee Concentrate - My boyfriend bickered me for buying him something for the fine lines under his eyes so I bought this little guy here from Iherb and now we both use it.
  • Oil of Aloe Cold Cream - I was intrigued by the concept of taking your makeup off with the help of a a cold cream. It's a very thick cream that can be used also as a moisturising face mask during the night.

  • E.L.F. High Definition Powder - It is said that this setting powder is an excelent dupe for the MUFE version. I didn't try that one but I was still intrigued so I placed the order on Iherb.
  • realTechniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - I don't think I'll ever spend 20 bucks on the Beauty Blender so I've gone for the cheaper version from realTechniques and I already love it, I'm not using face brushes anymore for my foundaton/concealer/BB cream.
  • Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Combination to Oily Skin #Light - I had this one in medium but it's a little too dark for me so I purchased also the light color so that I can mix them better.

  • Inglot Under Makeup Base - I did a little shopping at the new Inglot store and after using a sample of their face primer, I liked it so much that I returned and bought the full size.
  • Inglot AMC Pure Pigment Eyeshadow #85 - Oh man, Inglot pigments are the best, thay have such a beautiful range of colors and the most curious I was to buy this magnific multichrome, blue/brown/purple/teal nuance.
  • Inglot AMC Powder Blush #55 - I'm not much of a blush person but this cool rose/mauve tone color had me at first sight.

  • Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo SPF 15 #807 Red Coral - It's not a lipstick, nor a gloss or a lip balm, it's more a combination of the three.
  • Kiko Tropical Waterproof Eyeliner #03 River Turquoise - This is probably the most intense liquid liner I own, it goes wonderfull with a bronzed and glowy skin.
  • Kiko Skinny Fit Kajal #01 Intonation Shell - The perfect mat nude for brightening the eye look!

  • Astor Soft Lip sensation Lipcolor Butter #005 Poppy Pretty - After getting the soft red one, I decided I wanted something more summer apropriate so I got this soft coral/peach one also.

  • Catherine Oval Cotton Pads - The usual maxi pads that I go through like water....
  • Cora Cotton Pads - Just some normal cotton pads for my manis.
  • Hops Wet Wipes Rose Scented - These are not for my face, but for my hands to keep them clean when I put my makeup on and to smell like roses in the process.

Favorites of the Moment (May 2014)

Hi, girls!

It's that time of the month, time for May's favorites, and now looking at the things that were my most loved ones during this past month, I realize that they are not as many as always. Maybe because I didn't use makeup as often... But I still have a couple of discoveries around!

Body Care Favorites

I had the Online Regenerating Multivitamin Hand Cream laying around for some time now so last month I put it to use quite often before bed and I loved it. Dove Go Fresh Cucumber and Green Tea Scent Spray Deodorant got a lot of love from me last month also, the fresh scent is great, especially when working out. Another oldie but goldie is the Scholl Cracked Heel Repair Cream Active K+, which is always a great solution for my dried heels.

Nails Favorites

I didn't really had my nails done last month with the exception of my toes for which I've been loving Orly Beach Cruiser, a neon bright pink nail polish. I also rediscovered in my nail polish collection the Essence Gel-Look Top Coat which gives such a nice glossy finish on top of any nail polish.

Makeup Favorites

As far as makeup goes, May's main favorite was the realTechniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. It replaced all of my foundation brushes and I can't really get enough of it, I use for everything: blending in my foundation, BB Cream, CC Cream and even my concealer. New additions to my makeup collection that I've been using a lot during last month were the Inglot Under Makeup Base, the best face primer I ever used, Inglot AMC Powder Blush #55, a dusty rose/mauve blush that complements my skin tone very well and goes with anything and Kiko Skinny Fit Kajal #01 Intonation Shell, a nude eyeliner that's great for highlighting my water line.

Sleek Ink Pot gel liner was a surprising rediscovery of May's as I didn't quite liked it at first, being too tacky and a little greasy as well, but now it has become my go to black gel liner. For my brows, I started using the Miss Sporty Brow Pencil #002 Dark Brown and I've been loving it as it fills in my brows much more easily than a brow powder. Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara was my go to mascara during May as I noticed that it efortlessly curl my lashes and gives them definition without much fuss around them.

As far as lip products go, May was all about soft and springy colors as I dived more into lip glosses and butter glosses than lipsticks which is unusual for me as I tend to gravitate more towards lipsticks. Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Gloss #Cashmere Rose was my everyday favorite thing to put on top of any lipstick, as it gives such a natural feeling even to more bolder colors. NYX Butter Glosses in Strawberry Parfait and Peaches and Cream were also very loved last month, as I adore how lightweight they feel on the lips and the color payoff is remarkable.

I had two favorite lipsticks during May which were Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick #Lust for blush, the perfect light pink nude, and Calvin Klein Delicious Luxury Creme Lipstick #Ethereal, a peachy pink color.

Lust for blush, Ethereal

Cashmere Rose, Strawberry Parfait, Peaches and Cream

Non-beauty favorites

Starting this month, I decided to include in my monthly favorites some non-beauy related favorites just to give you some glimpses of what I like in my day to day life.

Favorite Food

Grilled Vegetables Stuffed Ravioli with mushrooms and sweet corn - that's actually a recipe that I modified a little and I've been cooking this one 3-4 times during last month and I can't have enough of them.

Favorite Desert

I'm a sweets addict so I love to discover new treats all the time. Last month I discovered that I love Kinder Egg Ice  flavoured Cream and Werther's Original Butter Candies.

Favorite clothing item

I've been looking for a leather vest for quite a while now and I still haven't found it but I found instead the perfect denim vest from New Look

Favorite series

I'm a series junkie, I watch a lot of them, from Grey's Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, Scandal to Stargate and Supernatural. Now that all my favorite series are in summer break I'm only left to watch season 2 of Arrow which after initil dismiss, now it hooked me bad. And it's all Oliver Queen's a.k.a Arrow semi-nude scenes and his many but funny and quite "charged" scenes with the remarkable Felicity Smoak. Damn that girl is lucky! If you watch Arrow, you know  what I mean, if not, go watch it, if not for the action and the story itself, than for the before mentionned reasons.

See what I mean???:D

Review: Balea Fubschutz Spray

$

Hello, ladies!

As the summer is finally here and we get to enjoy sun, light clothes and sandals, I feel I need to take extra care of my feet, especially my heels which tend to get more dry during the warm seasons. As I probably mentioned before the skin on my feet is really sensible and I can easily get rashes from heat, sweat, dust and so on and I like using an antibacterial spray to keep this from happening. Over the time I tried various brand, from drugstore to more expensive ones, but one that I'm really satisfied with and gets the job done and it's really inexpensive is Balea Fubschutz Spray

If you live in Europe you surely know  that Balea is the signature brand for DM ( Drogerie Markt), a German chain of retail stores that sells cosmetics, heathcare, health food and household products. In general, the Balea brand consists of low-cost products, that are not of a doubtfull quality by no means. I actually use a lot of Balea beauty products and I have many favorites from there too.

That being said, I don't have much to say about this foot spray other that it's doesn't smell too minty or too chemical, it's not powdery, it freshens up the tired feet and protects them for any rashes or  infections. The 200 ml make a pretty good price/quantity ratio, they last for quite a long time and the dossage system doesn't waste a lot of product.

I sometimes use it at night before going to bed and applying foot cream as the feeling of fresh feet helps me sleep better. I know that it contains alcohol which is not something I should put on my sensitive skin, but it does help with keeping my skin dry without any irritations. I also use it as an antibacterial spray for my shoes and to counteract the foul smells, especially when we talk about artificial leather and other plastic materials.

What's your favorite way to cool off your feet during summer? Are antibacterial foot sprays a must for you?

Hi, guys!

I'm in my "bad blogger" mood right know, meaning that I don't have a lot of time for blogging anymore(or inspiration for that matter) with all that's happening on a more personal level (a.k.a. purchasing my own flat &co). Hopefully, I'll be back in my daily posting habit very soon and I hope you'll bare with me untill then. Today I thought to highlight one piece of clothing that I absolutely love to wear during warm seasons : shorts. Sexy, boyfriend, tight, loose, casual, elegant, printed, denim, lace, crochet, leather, cotton etc., I love them all and their pretty much my summer uniform.

Favorites of the moment (June 2014)

Hi, everybody!

I feel so ashamed that I almost completely neglected my blog for the past few weeks and sadly you will have to bare with me for another month or so untill I'll settle in my new home. I will try to make the effort to post more often. For today I'm back with last month's favorites, a little later than usual, hope you don't mind terribly.

June was not about discovering new favorites as you'll see in my upcoming June haul post, I did put a big restrain on my makeup buys. It's killing me but that's life :))! One big change that happened last month was hair related. As it was also my birthday, turning 26 made me do something with myself ASAP. So I cut my hair short, shoulders lenght short, change the haircut to give it more volume and dyed it to a very dark black-brown color. I was going for black-blue color but I changed my mind last minute as I realized that I would kind of look ghostly with that color. And I'm glad I changed my mind, hopefully I'll do a full new hair care routine post very soon.

Body Care Favorites

I rediscovered in my stash a new tube of Gerocossen Supless Anti-celulite Concentrated Serum which I loved last year so I started to use it again. It's probably the only product that actually worked, I love how soft and yet firm it makes my skin and it definitely helps with the slight orange look-like skin. I finally got around and bought my first Batiste Dry Shampoo, the fresh version, and i can finally see what everybody has been raved about. It really makes a difference and for my shorter haircut, it does wonders for holding up the volume. Also volume haircut means that styling products are my new best friends! Garnier Fructis Brilliance Flex & Hold Hairspray is been my go-to hairspray for the last couple of weeks and I enjoy it very much. It's light but it's still holding pretyy good and it doesn't make my hair greasy which is a big plus. I forgot that I had an Avon Foot Works Vanilla Brown Sugar Smoothing Foot Scrub laying in my bathroom cabinet. It smells delicious and it leaves my feet really soft. Another rediscory from my bathroom cabinet is the Sabon Shower Oil Delicate Jasmine. It smells incredibly!

Makeup Favorites

In the makeup departement I started to play more with my blushes and contour powder, using them as eyeshadows. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder is a really great crease color for my skintone and I started using it daily also as a transitional shade. Sleek Blush by 3 Sugar, especially the shades Muscovado et Demerara are great for a light was of color on my lids. One huge rediscovery I did last month was the ELF Liquid Eyeliner in Midnight, a dark black-navy color. I had this for a couple of months and I didn't liked it at first, but oh man!, now it's my favourite. I like it even better than my gel liners. It goes on so smoothly and easy, it dries to a satin finish and the brush is so fine that I can do all sortes of lines. I've been reaching more and more for my L'Oreal Matte Morphose Souffle Foundation, it's so light that it's all I need in this heat. Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer has been my go-to concealer since I bought it and it's still is: light, brightening and decent covering. Lastly, for my lips I've switching up everyday but one lipstick that become a staple for me is Kiko Ultra Glossy SPF 15 Lipstick in 807 Red Coral. It's a mixture between a lipstick, lip gloss and lip balm, perfect for summer.

Non-beauty favorites

Favorite Food - I've discovered a new place, Salad Bar where they make pretty interesting salads on the spot. My favorites are Ceasar Salad and Green Box.

Favorite Dessert - Apart from ice-cream, last month I had a little too many Rees' Peanut Butter Chocolate Cups.

Favorite cloting items - I've been mixing and matching lately, so my favorites pieces were some denim fringed boyfriend shorts from Old Navy,  H&M black lace shorts, Villa oversized khaky green shirt and no-name black floral maxi dress.

Favorites series - I've watched Death comes to Pemberley, a fanfiction inspired mini-series produced by BBC, fallowing Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice final events, so that I could see a taste of my favorite Regency couple, Elizabeth Bennet and Darcy. And I've recently hooked on a new series, The Americans, which is a kind of temporary replacement for Homeland for me.

 Hi, everyone!

Yes, I'm still alive! I'm really sorry guys for the lack of posts lately, unfortunately real life got tough to say the least... I've managed though to take some pictures of on of my favorite makeup looks that I've been sporting lately, a really quick and natural daytime makeup focusing on some coral shades for the eyes and peach orange for the lips. I never thought but this summer my colors are definitely oranges, corals and peaches. I gravitate towards them even for my clothing. The rest is kept simple, mascara, no eyeliner and flushed cheeks. Hope you like it!

Hello, ladies!

I've been a really bad blogger lately, bear with me please! Today I'd like to share a quick post about a mani I did about a month ago when I still had relatively short nails and could sport dark nail polishes.

I used a deep green shade from Flormar, 455, in 2 coats and on top the rapid dry liquid from Revlon.

(Delayed) June's Haul

Hi, ladies!

It's almost September and just right now I got the time to write about June's Haul, I had the photos taken about amonth and a half now but... I'm so late I know, but as you know spare time is really a luxury for me right now. Let's just get down to business!

Bodycare

  • I picked up another bottle of Balea Dusch Peeling Buttermilk & Lemon from DM. I loved it so much that I went to 4-5 stores till I found it. Hate that's limited edition, the flavour is to die for, think lemon pie!
  • Unfortunately my dry heels problem is as present as ever so I got a Softening Foot Cream with Jojoba Oil and Allantoin from Blanchette B. It works alright, but I'm not impressed...
  • Balea Vaseline - I use this for multiple purpose dry skin areas: lips, heels, feet, hands etc.
Haircare

  • Batiste Dry Shampoo Cool & Crisp Fresh - I discovered a local store that brings Batiste so I was over the moon... Sadly I only found this little guy, everything else was sold out but they recently got more versions and bigger sizes also.
  • Balea Trend It Up Beach-Style Salz-Spray - With my now a lot shorter hair I can experiment with volume and textures, this salt spray was great for my mini vacation at the seaside as it gave my locks an efortless waved style. It's great for those day when time for hair styling is not an option.
  • Balea Volume Effect Forming Water - On the same note, for my shorter hair I need volumizing products. This forming water gives great volume but sadly combined with the hot weather it also makes my hairs stick together. I think it will better for fall and winter times.
Skincare

  • Auchan Demaquillant Extreme Yeux et Levres - I've gotten used to this byphase makeup remover so I'm sticking to it. It's cheap, it does the job well and it doesn't sting my eyes.
  • Balea Soft&Clear Hydro-Gel with Salycilic Acid and Zinc - I got some dry skin patches around my jaw that my moisturizer can't seem to deal with. This one is pretty ok and really inexpensive and it also treats the few breakouts that I get because of the heat, hormons etc.
  • Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Mask - This face mask is gross-looking but throughly effective. It deep-cleanses the pores and reduce the shine, I really like it so I'll rebuy it for sure.
Nails polishes

  • Rimmel London Rita Ora Collection 60 Seconds Nail Polish #Midnight Rendez-Vous - It's just a great dark purple/violet/indigo nail polish.
  • Medusa Nail Polish #76 (coral) and 85 (bright yellow) - Fun colors for summer.
Makeup

  • Flormar Pretty Lip Gloss #P822 Pink Chestnut - This is a gorgeous pink nude really opaque lip gloss that goes with every look. A little sticky but great for everyday.
  • Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara - That's my new go to mascara, it's so great I can't even decribe it. I just can't believe that such an inexpensive mascara would be so great. It gives my poor natural lashes such lenght and volume that since I got this I almost gave up on my trademark eyeliner because this macara makes my eyes pop so easily without much effort.
  • Farmasi Rouge Lipstick #04 - You know me, I rarely stray from my nude looking lips but this color of lipstick  and this formula made me wear red-orange lips almost every day since I got it. I just started to get into Farmasi products and I must say they are great quality and inexpensive, I don't know why I haven't check them out before.
  • Farmasi Happy Face Pressed Powder #06 - I don't usually venture in face products that I don't know but this powder was highly praised by the seller and so inexpensive (less than 2 Euro) that I had to try it. And I love it, it give a slightly dewy finish and it's really medium coverage but it doesn't look caky at all.

As you might have noticed, I've been on an almost no buy restriction lately which is very good for my finances and it also gives me an opportunity to really use the heaps of makeup that I have already, but not good at all for my makeup addiction! I feel like a recovering drug addict:D, but rest assured that for my combined July & August haul, you're in for a suprise. I'm only saying that's good to have overseas friends...

Hi, girls!

This look was done ages ago and sat in my Draft category for almost two months now. Good thing I remembered at the time to write down what I've used. I did this look imediatelly after I had my haircut and my hair dyed in dark brunette. Unfortunately, the brunette faded away really quickly and now I'm left with a really medium brunette color, much lighter. Pretty but can't wait to dye it back to the almost black. I love how the darker shade of my hair make my eyes pop more and my face to have more definition even with lighter makeup. And oh, I can rock a bold lip color now.

Hi, guys!

It seems that all my latest posts start with an apology so I'll just fast-forward to let you know that I'm almnost done with moving in into my new place so hopefully I'll get back to my regular blogging program really soon. I have many plans regarding Love at first brush which I'll share as soon as I get them going, but for the time being I'll share a very delayed post of my favorites from the last two months, July ans August (I figured I'll just combine them as I skipped July favorites). Enjoy!

Haircare

Batiste Dry Shampoo Cool & Crisp Fresh is my first Batiste dry shampoo I ever tried (meanwhile I got another two, the cherry flavoured and the volume xxl one) and I love it, I now understand why all the hype around these. I does leave my hair grey but the residues come off quickly, but it makes the difference in the world if I have a bad hair day. So LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, I'll try all the available versions I can get my hands on.

Since cutting my hair a lot more shorter than I was used to, I definitely need to use more styling and texturing products. I had the Garnier Fructis Volume Restructure Styling Mousse for a while but I actually started using this only during the latest months on wet hair, just to give my roots more volume before blowing it dry. I actually saw my hairdresser using the Wella Professional Perfect Setting Blow Dry Lotion on my wet hair before styling it and I was impressed how well it hold the volume without leaving too much build-up on my hair and scalp, so I bought it. I've been using it non-stop since then.

I used up the oil elixir express leave-in conditioner from Gliss (review here) so I bought the Schwarzkopf Gliss Ultimate Color Express Repair Conditioner which I love even more as it also gives a nice shine to my dyed locks. And it smells divine! These leave-in conditioners from Gliss are really a big hit as they do the job and they are pretty affordable. Not to mention they come in so many versions.

Skincare & Bodycare

I'm not much of a toner user (even though that I should) but when I saw this Nivea Acqua Effect Purifying and Mattinfying Toner, I was imediatelly hooked. As the not so proud owner of an combo to oily skin, I'm always on the hunt for mattifying products. This toner actually smells pretty good, not alcoholy at all and it does mattify my skin without taking away the moisture. Another skincare obssesion I had these last 2 months is La Roche-Posay Anthelios AC Matte Extreme Fluid SPF 30. I've been searching for a trully mattifying sunscreen that I can use daily under my makeup for as long as I remember and finally I found this guy which is not insanely expensive, it does mattify my skin for almost the entiere day and it has a pretty decent SPF 30. Of course, I'll never be without this, I wore every day and I'll try searching the tinted version of this as it does leave an white cast which I have to cover with BB Cream/foundation/powder.

I have a thing for flavoured body washes and my newest obssesion is the I Love... Minty Choco Chip Revitalising Shower Gel. The name says it all, this little guy smells like legit chocolate mint ice cream, it's like smelling an After Eight mint chocolate. I struggle not to eat it:)))!

I only got to hit the beach for three days this summer but I almost used up the Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun Refreshing Hydrating Spray with cactus extract as my daily moisturiser. Actually I'm kind of lazy when it comes to apply body cream/body lotion/moisturizer so this was pretty handy as it's in the form of a spray. It's very light and it smells realy good!

My last favorite as far as skincare goes is the Sephora Face Cleaning Brush. I've been using it almost every day since I got it at the begining of July and I saw a real difference in how clean my pores look and I have fewer breakouts. Of course I have to sanitize it really good once a week as to not spread the bacteria around my face.

Nail Polishes

My nails routine suffered quite a lot during these last months as I didn't have much time to take proper care of them and to change my mani 1-2 times a week as I normaly do. I've been using the Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 925 Sky High on my toes a couple of times and I loved it, the color just screams summer, the formula is so opaque and creamy and it does dry in 60 secs. Another nail polish I wore quite a lot was NYX Girls Nail Polish in Plain Jane, a beautiful nude peach cream color which goes wonderfully with my bronzed skin.

Makeup

As far as makeup goes, I kept my routine quite simple (BB Cream, concealer, powder, a splash of blush and mascara, eyebrows and a summery color on my lips) for an every day basis. I did however tried to incorporate some of my colorful palettes when trying to do some more elaborate looks.

Sleek Acid Palette and Sleek Original Palette saw the most use this summer (alongside my beloved Naked which was featured in last months favorites), both for matte and shimmery looks. Acid is great for fun neon colorful looks as it includes some pretty cool shades of pink, plum, yellow, green and orange and also some cool toned shimmery shades of grey and blues for night looks. It's a versatile palette for fun looks and I always combine these pops of color with other eyeshadows to vamp it a little.

Sleek Original Palette contains all shimmers and a matte black. It goes from some rose gold tones to some blues and greens so again this a versatile palette just for adding a pop of color.

To remain in the eyeshadow section, I have to mention the L'Oreal Colour Appeal Eyeshadow in Rose Quartz. It's so great for a wash of color on the lid but also to build up the color for a really dramatic Barbie-like look.

Let's just take a moment to contemplate this mascara. Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara is hands down the best mascara I ever tried. I can't believe how incredible this is so here's my rant: it's inexpensive (around 3 euro), it give insane volume, it curls ther lashes without the help of a curler, it's really black, it doesn't smudge, it dries quickly and it makes me look like I wear falsies which I don't. Don't just believe me, just try it!

Milani Shadow Eyez 12 HR Wear Eyeshadow in 10 Almond Cream is great as an eyeshadow base. I never had a jumbo eye pencil so creamy and opaque. It kind of puts NYX's Milk Jumbo Pencil to shame.  I use it also to highlight my inner corners and brow arch.

I've been using a lot my Kiko Skinny Fit Kajal Pencil in Nude to line my water line and bring out some light to my eyes and Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Khol Kajal in Bronze for softer, smudgier looks.

Also to highlight my inner corners I've been using a lot the Sephora Nano Eyeliner in Pearl Beige. It's so quick and creamy that I prefer it to highlighting shadows in powder formulas.

Farmasi Happy Face Pressed Powder in 06 is also one of the hidden gems that I discovered this summer. It doesn't have a matte finish but more like a dewy, satin finish which I love. It evens out my skintone like nobody's business and I often wear it alone when I don't want/have time to do my makeup.

My most used blush was Milani Baked Blush in Corallina, a pretty shimerry peach coral blush which goes really well as a highlighter also on bronzed skin.

Sephora Touche Lumiere Lissante Brightening and Smoothing Concealer in Clair Light was also a staple in my every day quick makeup routine, it's great to conceal fatigue traces and brighten up the complexion. Being yellow also helps to concealer dark circles.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder doesn't need too much rave, it's simply great for contouring, for bronzing up the face and it's a perfect transition shade for my eyelook.

Onto my brows, I discovered that I don't actually to buy the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade because I can use my NYX Gel Liner and Smudger in Charlotte on my brows as it's almost the same dark brown color that I need. Now I'm sure that using a gel eyeliner on the brows is not something that's usually done but for me it works, it doesn't smudge, it doesn't look unnatural and it gives such a nice definition to my brows. You can try it if you're a brunette like me!

I've been applying the said gel liner on my brows with the help of my realTechniques Brow Brush from the Starter set which helps to either create a very natural eyebrow look or to go all the way and create a really defined look.

For my lips I've been using summery colors, ranging from nudes to really bright oranges and reds. My favorites from the bunch were:

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Stellar
Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick in Lust for blush
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in 240 Undressed
Farmasi Rouge Lipstick in 04
NYX Butter Gloss in Peaches and Cream
Rimmel London 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in Natural

from D-U (Stellar, Lust for blush, Undressed, 04, Peaches and Cream), left Natural

from D-U (Light Clair, 10 Almond Cream, Kiko Nude, Pearl Beige, Bronze, Corallina)

Empties#4

Hello!

I'm slowly starting to get back on track with my posting schedule so here I am with a long due review of my latest empties. I've taken the photos back at the begining of August and since then I can proudly say that I already gather another pile of garbage empties, so my next post will come fairly soon.

Skincare Empties

Let's start with skicare products. I managed to finish another Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel, which is the only face wash I use for more than an year and it did great things for my skin. For those with combo/oily skin is great but for those of you with dry skin, watch out because it dries out the skin a tad (review here). I'm already half through another bottle.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water was a pleasant surprise, it's very gentle but throughly effective for removing makeup and it lasts forever (it claims to last for about 200 uses, I wouldn't say 200 but at least 150 it is). You can find the full review here, it's one of my favorite makeup removers and I already rebought it.

L'Oreal Sublime Fresh Skin Perfecting Purifying Toner was laying around for a couple of months so I put an effort to finish it. The toner itself is quite good but as I mentioned before I'm not into toners too much which I'm really trying to change as toners are good for my skin. It's destined for normal to combo skin so keep that in mind, see full review here. I would probably repurchase it again, at the moment I'm loving a toner from Nivea.

I finished also bottle of Garnier Essentials Cleansing Milk. I used to purchase this all the time some years ago before starting the blog and I repurchased it a couple of months ago out of curiosity to compare it with a micellar water. I kind of passed from cleansing milk to micellar water lately, but this one is still one of the bests at the drugstore for me.

I had this tube of Nivea Visage Pure Effect All-in-1 Extra Deep Cleansing Face Wash for a very long time in my bath. It was expired so it had to be thrown out. This was my go-to face wash before switching to Vichy Normaderm, I had repurchase it many times but I stopped using it as it didn't meet my skin necesities anymore. This was great in my early 20's, but as I'm getting older my skin has changed also and I now feel I need a deeper cleansing.

This was the last bottle of Farmec Byphase Makeup Remover for eyes and lips with argan oil, I loved it a lot but sadly it was discontinued.

I cried a bit internally when I used up even the last drop of Paula's Choice Hydralight Shine Free Daily Mineral Complex SPF 30 Moisturizer, it's probably the best moisturizer with SPF I ever used. I would very much love to repurchase it but I'm waiting to finish also the BHA 2% Gel to purchase them together from Paula's Choice website. It's on the more expensive side but the 60 ml lasted me for almost 4 months so that's an investment.

I managed to finish also my drugstore go-to moisturizer, Nivea Visage Mattifying Day Care. It's not quite heavy-duty mattifying for holding up during hot months but for fall to spring is quite good. It's light but consistent enough to moisturise dry skin areas. Review here.

Garnier Caffeine Eye Roll-on was sitting around for a long time so it was time to go away. I honestly didn't use it as consistently as I should so I can't tell if it does something to eye circles and under eyes bags, but it's great to keep in the purse and use it to refresh and moisturise the eye area even on top of makeup.

Inglot Under Makeup Base sample made me buy the full-sized product. It's quite pore-blurring, it's mattifiyng and it helps foundation to really "sits" on very well for the the entire day. It's clear and it has a sillicony feel to it. Full review coming soon!

Skinlite Strawberry Yogurt Masque is a favorite of mine, I had it before and it leaves the skin clean and refreshed. And it smells like strawberries.

Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Mask is quite the ugly stuff. It looks like herbal infused mud that you put on the face. It smells funny also but it's great stuff for those with oily skin. It reglates the sebum secretion and deep cleansing the pores.

Last but not least in the skincare section are the Gerocossen Wax Hair Removing Strips for face with chamomille. Not much to say here, they are effective but still gentle, I've been repurchasing a couple of times already.

Haircare

Nature's Gate Biotin Strenghtening Shampoo is my go-to shampoo which did some pretty good things for my hair. Please read the full review here, I'm already preparing myself to place an order on Iherb.com for my third bottle of this shampoo.

Balea Trocken Shampoo is Balea's version of a dry shampoo, is cheap and effective, even though the smells kind of killed it for me and the white cast that it leaves is not great at all. I love Batiste better but this one is easy to get in any DM. Review here.

Nivea Color Crystal Gloss 1 Minute Hair Mask was quite good for maintaining the hair dye color and it was somewhat moisturising but other than that I wasn't really impressed. Review here.

Dove Hair Therapy Hair Fall Control Conditioner was a good moisturising conditioner but I can't really tell if it has a real "hair fall control". I should probably use it combined with the shampoo from the same line to see some results.

I received Dove Nourishing Oil Care Daily Treatment Conditioner with Weightless Nutri-Oils deluxe sample as a gift when I bought a magazine and I tried it on a whim, but I was surprised how good it was. I used every last drop of it and I'm planning on getting the full sized bottle. It's moisturising and it leaves the hair so shiny and healthy looking. I usually don't go for oils based hair products too much as my hair is on the oily side but this one doesn't make my hair greasy at all.

Balea Repair + Pflege Express Kur is one of my favorites hair treatments from Balea that I use from time to time to give my hair a little pamper. It's inexpensive, a tube lasts for 2-3 washes and it works just as well as a more expensive hair treatment.

Bodycare

Cyclax Cocoa Butter & Walnut Exfoliating Body Scrub wasn't a really favorite of mine. I used it up, it did its job as a body scrub but the formula was not one of my favorites. It was like putting body lotion mixed with tiny scrubing particles on your skin. I had to insist quite a lot to feel that it actually works and it's not the easiest scrub to put on as it's so runny. I was sold by the "cocoa butter" claim which I have to say it wasn't present at all. It smelled a little sugary but that's all. I won't repurchase it as there are far more better body scrubs on the market in the same price range.

Dalan Therapy Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap& Balea Creme Seife Meeres-rauschen are the two of the hand soaps I've been using (and collecting) during last months. Not much to say other than they were alright, nothing fancy, not really flavoured. I usually go for more fragranced hand soaps but these ones were really mild.

Scholl Cracked Heel Repair Cream is one of my favorite heel creams. I've mentioned previously that I have a vitamin A deficiency which for me translates into very dry heels and tough skin. While I try to keep it in check by taking vitamin A supplements, I'm also always on the hunt for the best foot cream. Scholl makes some of the best footcare products and this repairing cream did heped me keep my heels moisturised. I will repurchase it again, even though at the moment I'm using a version of this enriched with keratin complex.

I finished two shower washes from Balea: Balea Dusch & Cream Blaubeere, a creamy shower wash in a nice lavander color which smells like blueberries yogurth, and Balea Dusch Peeling Buttermilk & Lemon, a scrubing shower gel with the most gorgeous flavour - lemon pie (already repurchased). Balea always makes the best smelling bath products, I love to try new flavours from them.

Dove Creme Mousse Body Wash is a constant staple in my bathroom, I always have a Dove body wash, they are the best moisturising bath products. This one has the consistancy of a mousse, it's so creamy and hydrating. The perfum is the typical Dove perfum.

I finished a lot of makeup removing cotton pads as usual from Cora, Caterine and Ebellin. The maxipads are my favorite and I'm always restocking when I find them in stores.

Finally I've finished also lots of wet makeup removing wipes that I use mainly to clean my hands when doing my makeup. I've used a bunch of random ones from Balea (my favorites ones with vitamin cocktail), Gala,Hops (they smell like roses), Antibacterial Wet Hankies and Carrefour Discount.

No makeup empties this time but by the time I'm writting this post, my bag of empties is almost full again so expect an empties post very soon again and this time I will include some makeup I've finished.

La multi ani, Romania!

1 Decembrie...

Yours truly,

Love at first brush
