Hi, girls!

These series should really be renamed This Monday I Love...:)). But anyways let's just skip the obvious and talk about some makeup goodies... Surprisingly, today I don't have as many findings as in the lasts weeks, but then  again last week I didn't had time to browse the net as often as I did before.

Boots No 7 Luxurious Foaming Shower Oil

I've watched Tati rave about this shower oil and as I'm a bath products freek I want it! I love body washes that leaves the skin moisturised so this one is definitely for me.

Marc Jacobs "Lolita" Eye Shadow Palette

Not another neutral pallete but wait...it's THE Marc Jacobs palette and it looks so luxurious. I know the these shades are not unique at all and the price is only justified because we pay the brand and not the actual product, but if you love makeup, you understand.

Tom Ford Nail Polish #Sugar Dune
I don't need another nude nail polish but then I've read Lily Pebbles' post on Tom Ford's Sugar Dune and I was sold, I mean it looks so clean and springy that I want to pay the 26 pounds to own it. Crazy much?

Review& Swatches: LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencil #Cherry Blossom, Relaxation and Beach Resort

Hello, ladies!

LA Colors has an wide range of  shades for their jumbo eye pencils, as you can check them out here, and I have 3 of them to show you : Cherry Blossom, Relaxation and Beach Resort. While I'm not very pleased with LA Colors eyeshadow formula, I'm beyond happy with these eye pencils and I tend to buy out more shades. They can be used as eyeshadow bases, as eyeliners or on their one. I even used Cherry Blossom and Relaxation on my lips and they performe incredibly well.

They are similar the more famous NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils and while these even more inexpensive, I don't actually know if there are quality differences between them as I only own Milk which is my go to eyeshadow base for pretty much every shade.

But these are great also and the fact they can be used in multiple way makes them even more great. The formula is creamy but not too streaky, blendable and the color payoff is amazing. They need just a minute to dry out completely and won't crease or fade away even if they are weared on their one.

The shades are shimmery and very rich as colors so they're perfect for dramatic eye looks, for creating unique looks and for emphasizing some of the eyeshadows that don't look as pigmented on the eye. They even perform well on my water line as they don't irritate my eyes or quickly dissapear to nothing.

One downside is that as well as NYX' jumbo pencils, these have to sharpened so some of the product will be lost.

Beach Resort is an emerald green with golden shimmer.
Relaxation is a deep coppery shade with bronze and gold undertone.
Cherry Blossom is a baby pink with gold undertone, very shimmery almost metallic.

Overall, I'm really pleased with these jumbo eye pencils, they are multitasking and the staying power is amazing for such inexepensive products. If you're curious to try themyou can find at Cherry Culture and Beauty Joint.

Review : Anian Liquid Keratin Hair Treatment

$

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today we're talking another bit of hair care, it's the Anian Liquid Keratin Hair Treatment. You've might of heard of liquid keratin as of a very effective treatment for damaged hair or for hair straightening. I did some time ago a straightening hair treatment with Cocochoco Brazilian Keratin Hair Treatment and I've purchased the liquid keratin from Anian for maintenance purposes.

I've loved it quite a bit so I kept using it even though it's more than 6 months since my last brazilian keratin treatment. It claims to be a complex hair care and treatment with active ingredients similar to those from hair's structure that restores damaged hair, prevents hair loss and dandruff, gives the glossy and healthy look to one's hair. That's a really daring statement and I was a little sceptical about all these benefits.

How do you use it? Spray it on damp hair which was previously shampooed and conditioned, massage it gently and brush your hair to distribute it evenly. Then just blow dry your hair, as heat is necessary for the active ingredients to fix into your hair.

I like the dosage system, it's easy to use, just spray it into your hair and done. The 250 ml bottle will last you for a good couple of months. I'm using it regularly, once a week as I like to alternate it with another biphasic serum and it lasts me for more than 3-4 months. But that depends also on your hair lenght and hair density.

It's not a "I can't live without it" product by all means but it does some good things to my hair, in the way that it feels softer, it's more shiny, it looks healthy and makes it easier to style it. I has really big issues with frizzy hair before I started using keratin treatment and I used the hot plate for years to have my hair looking sleek and shiny, but since I've started using Anian's Liquid Keratin, I haven't touch it, it really tames my hair and makes it look great without much fuss.

I don't feel it actually protects my splits ends as well as I would have expected from a keratin treatment, but I usually use something else for that problem. I didn't see any improvements for stoping the hair loss either.

My hair is naturally wavy, not too straight but not curly either so by using the keratin treatment it straightens my hair a bit without making it oily or too heavy, it's actually very light. If you're interested in the ingredients click the photo below to enlarge.

Overall I feel it's a good hair maintenance product, it doesn't do wonders but it helps with many smaller issues, which I think it's very important as I don't like using way too many hair care stuff at once, so a multitasking product is always welcomed.

You can find it online here and it's only 9 Euro which is more than alright considering the bottle has 250 ml and it lasts for more than 6 months, weekly usage.

Review & Swatches: ELF Studio Tone Correcting Powder #Cool

Hi, girls!

I've had ELF Tone Correcting Powder in Cool tones in my makeup collection for a couple of months but only recently I've started using it properly. I've read some good reviews and I decided to buy it thinking it would be good for correcting some areas (yellow for brightening under my eyes, green for reducing redness, blue and pink for the dark spots). The truth is that it's not so effective using the colors separately, but actually to blend them together with you powder brush.

It claims the fallowing:
"Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out skin tone and absorbs excess oil, and sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin. The colors are meant to be blended together as the Blue neutralizes orange, the Green neutralizes red, the Pink neutralizes grey and the Yellow brightens and neutralizes red."

It's available in 3 ranges of shades: Cool, Warm and Shimmer, probably depending on the type of skin and the finishing one wishes for. I've got Cool which is composed of 4 matte almost white chalky shades: Yellow, Blue, Green and Pink. As stated above, these shades don't do much on their own in terms of correcting skin tones, but blended they do give a matte, almost flawless finish.

I always use a light hand when applying it as while I have pretty light skin, too much of this will look as an white cast. I see it more as a setting powder in compact form, being very sheer and lightweight, and I like that it provided matte finish and no touch ups are required during the day. I'm not sure though how it will look in the summer when I'll get darker.

The packaging is very sleek, stursy black case with a large mirror, very NARS-esque as all ELF Studio Line products. Overall, I think that for a drugstore powder it's pretty great, but if you have a more darker complexion than Warm might be the one for you. Sure, if you need a setting powder there is always the HD Powder from ELF but being a loose powder is little more messy to work with it. I prefer always powders in compact form.

If it caught your attention, you can find it on ELF's website at only 3$. And it does almost the same things as high end powder so go for it but don't expect to do wonders for concealing your problem areas.

Hi, girls!

I have some exciting news for you or maybe you already knew,  but for me at least they are definitely exciting! In my quest for beauty online shopping I've found an website called www.allcosmeticswholesale.com, where we can find a very nice selection of both drugstore and high end products which are sold individually but also wholesale. I actually knew this online store for a while, but for some reason I didn't quite like it. When I browse through it these days I was really impressed by the design, selection of products and retail prices.

I'vee seen a lot of MAC, Bobbi Brown, Cargo, Lorac, NARS, Wet n Wild, Urban Decay, Too Faced,  NYX, Z Pallete and many other brands. Sadly nail polishes can't be delivered overseas but there plenty of other beauty stuff to look after. For us Europeans it's kind of amazing to find all of these in one place and at nice prices also.

One downside is the shipping as it goes from 26 $ for a single product ordered to 50$ for more products (about 10-15). It's a lot but considering how much we save with their discounts, I think it's alright after all. And not to mention that all shipping options have insurance and we have the option to pay through Paypal.

Now onto the goodies, here's what on my wishlist (at least some of them:D):

Review & Swatches: Sleek I-Divine Ultra Matts V2 Eyeshadow Palette

$

Hello!

Sleek I-Divine Ultra Matts V2 Eyeshadow Palette is one of my new favorites in terms of eyeshadows. I didn't own too many matte eyeshadows so when I bought this I was really attracted by the large range of shades perfect for day, natural looks but also for smokey eyes and more strong eye looks.

I rarely wear a look using only matte shades as they can look dull on my skin so I often just use a pop of shimmer on my lid. I think these matte shades work very well in the crease and the lighter one for transition and for highlighting.

Ultra Matts Darks has the same sturdy black package like all Sleek palettes, with a large mirror. The eyeshadows do have names which is first considering the other eyeshadow palettes I have don't.

The shades are very pigmented, the swatches doesn't do them justice unfortunately in terms of intensity, they are definitely buildable, very easy to blend. The fall out is minimal, some of the shades are a little chalky, but the majority are very soft and creamy.

Orbit is a dark turquoise with a deep green undertone.
Ink is a navy blue with violet undertone.
Highness is a medium purple. It lacks the intensity of the other shades, but it's buildable.

Noir is a medium black, not too dark or opaque, but not washy also.
Dune is a beige shade, very natural and great for even the lid skintone.
Pillow Talk is a cool white, a little chalky but manageable. Great for inner corner of the eye and for highlighting the arch brow.

Thunder is a medium grey. It lacks the pigmentation of the other shades, but it's still buildable.
Maple is a deep burgundy. My favorite of the bunch, very pigmented and pretty unique.
Flesh is a dark nude shade, great as a transition shade or for softening a smokey eye.

Paper Bag is a medium to dark brown.
Villain is a deep, rich plum shade. It's the most pigmented of the bunch and very creamy.
Fern is a deep forest green.

Overall, I feel this is a very handy palette with some basics dark shades that every makeup addict should own. Some of the shades are more difficult to work with but with some exercise and a lot of blending the finish look is amazing. My favorites shades are Flesh, Maple, Villain and Fern.

The palette can be bought on Sleek official website and on Makeup Shop at the price of 9.99$.

Review & Swatches: Sephora Eye Graphic 4 Colors Palette #Burgundy Smokey

$

Hello, girls and Happy Dragobete Day for my Romanian readers!

Today I have for you un eyshadow quad, the Sephora Eye Graphic 4 Colors Palette in Burgundy Smokey. I've seen this a couple of times at the Sephora counter but the price was a little too steep for just 4 eyeshadows, but when this went in sales for 50% off (I think) I went crazy and got it.

First of all, the packaging looks  intriguing, almost futuristic. It's glossy black with pyramids of different sizes on the lid. Inside there is a medium large mirror and 4 square eyeshadows, no applicator or brush included. The names of those are written on the back of the palette: Burgundy, Beige, Taupe and Dark Grey.

As the names says, this little palette is great for a smokey eye with a twist of burgundy, so appropriate for an intense night eye look. I've also used these colors also separately with other shades and they do stand out so well.

In terms of pigmentation, they are amazing, just look how intense they are with just a dab of my fingers inside the pans. The texture is so smooth, almost buttery, there is some fall out as they are very shimmery almost metallic but nothing major.

On primer they won't crease or fade, they blend out very nice and easy. They are dream, I just wished there were more shades to choose from!

Burgundy is a deep, rich, burgundy shade with copper undertone and a lot of small shimmer particles.

Beige is a champagne shimmery shade. From the bunch, it has the most fall out and it's a tad less pigmented as the others.

Taupe is a dark shimmery grey with dark brown and green undertone. It also has small green glitter particles.

Dark grey is a dark grey, almost black shade with large multicolor glitter particles. It's like the Taupe but more darker and more glittery.

From the swatches above, you can see how smooth they go on and the colors translate beautifully onto the skin. From the four, my favorite ones are Burgundy (of course) and Dark Grey. They are so unique and they would make any eye colors pop for a date night look.

Unfortunately, I don't know if they are still available at Sephora as they were in the A/W collection and I've  got it in the Winter sales. But you can still try out on the Sephora website.

Review: Bourjois Elastic Mascara # 41 Black Unlimited

$

Hello!

I don't know why but the Elastic Mascara in Black Unlimited from Bourjois is only my second product from the brand to try out. I like Bourjois, but I never got around buying makeup from them, have to remediate that! I'm not a mascara junkie by all means, weird enough for me mascaras don't pose the same interest as the rest of beauty stuff. So it's kind of hard to judge them as I feel most of them do the same for my not-so-amazing-lashes, gives them a little definition, a little curl and lenght and that's it, I'm a happy woman. Lately, I've been trying to enlarge my mascara knowledge a bit and started buying more just to have more variety...

I bought Bourjois Elastic Mascara from Fragrance Direct on a whim, when doing online shopping I rarely put any mascaras in my basket, they are just attractif enough...But anyway, I bought this purely out of curiosity and it was only 1.99 pounds on sale while it retails for 9.49 pounds. Good deal!

From all mascaras I own this one is the the most petite and sleek, I also kind of love the thin handle which can be a little clumpsy at first but after a few uses, I got the hang of it. This is by no means relevant for the actual mascara, but a special packaging always sells better.

It claims to be"a new and innovative product which contains unique ingredients that go beyond simply giving the appearance of longer lashes but actually extends them to create a fuller, longer look.

Bourjois Elastic Mascara features an ultra-stretchable formula which can extend lashes to up to 130% of their natural length, eliminating the need for false eyelashes and pricy lash extensions. It is gentle to the eyes, is easy to remove and applies evenly to create a no-clump look.

A fantastic new product from Bourjois, Elastic Mascara in 41 Black Unlimited is the ultimate mascara for creating longer looking, voluminous lashes for a more glamorous look."

My humble opinion? It's a good mascara but by comparison with other ones I've tried and loved (Rimmel's Lash Accelerator, Maybelline's Falsies, Rimmel's Scandaleyes Retro Glam etc.), it's not so amazing. I see this as a nice mascara for everyday look, maybe for "no makeup" makeup look when you don't want your lashes to really stand out. I wear eyeliner most of the time, so I can get away with an average mascara as it's not so noticeable.

The wand is pretty long and the brush has fine bristles which should separate the eyelashes but if I'm not careful it might also clump them a little. I would have like some more firm bristles. It evens out eventually though so the finish look is not clumpy and the lashes don't stick together. As it's an "Elastic" mascara, I had high expections in terms of lenghtening, but this feature is also so-so. I mean it does get your lashes some definition and lenght, also a nice curl but you really have to go heavy with this to get something really dramatic.

It's not waterproof, but it doesn't smudge or flake either. I like that it's easy to take it off with any eyemakeup remover and it doesn't sting my eyes or anything else.

It does give volume but this is also depending on how many coats you apply. I usually go for 1 or 2 coats, depending on what I want to achieve with my makeup, but for a more dramatic look I would even go with 3 thin coats to make it work as I want.

For the price I paid, I'm good with it, but if I would have payed the retail price, I would habe been dissapointed as I would have expected more. If they ever change the brush a little bit by making these bristles a little longer, I would definitely buy it again.

Review: Wella Professionals Brilliance Shampoo & Treatment for Fine to Normal Coloured Hair

$
0
0
Hello!

Between me and Wella Professionals Brilliance Shampoo and Treatment for Fine to Normal Coloured Hair there is long history going back almost 2 years. I've bought the two constantly from my hair salon where I usually do my hair, but they had only the 250 ml shampoo bottle so last summer I bought the 1000 ml bottle from Fragrance Direct. My thought is that the larger bottle version is for proffesional use so the formula is stronger than for 250 ml bottles.

The shampoo and the treatment did some great things for my hair, in terms of strenght, shine, smoothness and easy combing for a long time. There is a before and after in my haircare routine for these products, as I had been using only drugstore haircare products before starting with the Wella Proffesionals range. If you can feel a "but", there is as I stop using the shampoo in December because I had noticed some increasing scalp itching and flakiness and increased hair loss. My hairdresser told me the cause might be the prolonged use of the professional version of this shampoo as she confirmed me there is a difference between the two formulas. So I started using the sensitive scalp shampoo from Wella and short afterwards the problems ceased so I know she was right.

I know that my issues are only valid in my case so I don't want to imply by any means that what I've just talked about is a negative remark about the product itself. This doesn't affect my review of the product, but it seemed fair to talk about my issues with the product so that you know what to expect if you've been using the 1000 ml bottle as I did.

Both are destined for fine to normal, dyed hair and they claim to give shine, vitality and enhance vibrancy of hair color. The formula includes diamond dust for shiny hair. For the longest time, I enjoyed so much the clean sensation, the silky feel and the nice sweet smell that both shampoo and hair mask have.

For me, it was one of the best combo I ever used for my hair, it really changed the way my hair looked and felt, the dye resist a lot more, my hair is healthy, smooth and shiny. And the fragrance is sooo nice, a little too strong but nothing major, and so persistant.

My haircare routine using these Wella products included 1 lather of shampoo, then rinse, then one apply on damp towelled hair of the hair treatment avoiding the roots. I leave it for 10 to 20 minutes than rinse out.

There are some differences I've spotted between the 250 ml bottles of shampoo we find in most salons and professional stores and the professional version for salons exclusive: the texture is thicker for the professional one, the perfume is stronger and a smaller quantity is needed for the same amount of foam. I'm thorn between saying I like better the professional version or the one for personal use, as the professional one has better results but on the long term it turned out to be too strong for my scalp. That's unfortunate because I really liked it, but I couldn't pass over the itching it gaved my scalp.

The treatment is still in my haircare routine, I have not abandon it as it doesn't have anything to do with my scalp problems. It such a luxurios hair mask, very concentrated so I use only a small amount usually on the lower half of my hair. It leaves my hair very smooth, glossy and healthy looking. I find that the best results were achieved together with the shampoo, but it does great also combined with other shampoo. This will always be a rebuy even though I use only once a week or once at two weeks, depending on what my hair needs at the moment.

These are from the permanent line so you can easily find them in hair salons, online (Fragrance Direct, Feel Unique, Beauty Bay, StrawberryNET) or in professional haircare stores. I noticed though there is differences in the pricing, I find that the best bargains are at salons and on Fragrance Direct.
Shampoo 250 ml ~ 8 Euro
Shampoo 1000 ml (FD) ~ 14 Euro
Treatment 150 ml ~ 11 Euro

Review & Swatches: Elmiplant Skin Moisture CC Cream All in 1 Skin Perfection #Light

Hello!

If you've read me so far you know how much I prefer BB Creams to foundations even though they are not by all means replacements, but rather a lighter version for those who want to achieve only a skin tone correction and a healthy look, without covering much. Elmiplant Skin Moisture CC Cream All in 1 Skin Perfection is my first CC Cream, I was not sure if Elmiplant really came up with a good product as they do only skincare. Anyway I believe that BB Creams and CC Creams are somewhere between skincare and makeup, so skincare brands may come up with great products or not...

While BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm, CC Cream stands for Color Correction. One common feature is that they all have "all-in-1" properties. Elmiplant's CC Cream claims that it gives 24h moisture, medium cover, skin tone correction, highlighting and sun protection, while it reduces the fine lines and pore size.

It also claims to have activ ingredients 100% natural like, it's paraben free and it's adressed to all skin type, by giving a flawless finish. The texture is very light and easy absorbed and it gives your skin an instant healthy glow and natural radiance as well as a smooth sensation.

How do I feel about it?

First of all, I like the packaging, it's practical though a little cheap looking, the dosage system is not the best, I'm not very fond of these types of closure, I feel a lot of air enters the tube and it might alter the product. I much prefer pumps, but hey it's a drugstore product after all.

I got this in Light, there is only another color Medium, but with BB Creams and CC Creams I always choose the lightest color as Medium looks darker on my skin, even if foundations always go 1-2 tones darker than the lightest one.

The texture is very light, almost liquidy, and I feel that it has a slight cooling effect. It's quickly absorbing but it tends to leave a kind of greasy feeling behind for about 10 minutes after applying it, but nothing major and I do have combination skin.

It has medium cover, I feel it covers better than other BB Creams, but it doesn't have the covering power of a foundation. For this is not an issue, as I prefer light textures and light ot medium cover almost every day. In terms of resistance, it does lasts a lot but at the end of the day the pores on my nose are visible if I don't touch up at all day.

The best thingh I love about it is that it evens my skin tone very nice. I don't have major dark spots, discoloration, only a little redness around my nose and some enlarged pores. See how it reduced my red spots on my hand?  It does gives a healthy glow so for me it's perfect for every day look, I won't use any highlighter when wearin this CC Cream. I always wear a powder to set it, but it doesn't take the subtle glow away.

It claims to keep the moisture 24 h, I can't agree or disagree as I use a moisturiser every morning, but it does not dry my skin at all. Actually the dry patches on my cheecks and around my mouth look decent enough. I love also that it contains SPF 20, that's always a plus because this CC Cream is for day looks mainly.

I didn't noticed any improvements for my large pores or fine lines though, but I haven't used it every day to confirm it. Perhaps the effects are visible in time.

One last thing I want to mention is the smell, I can't really put a finger on it, it's a little astrigent, refreshing, but not perfumy at all. Maybe it's the quince extract, anyway it's a little strange but I like it.

You can find it at any drugstore that sells Elmiplant products and it's very affordable, about 4 Euro. If you're into BB & CC skin products, go for it!

February's Haul

Hello, ladies! Happy Monday!

February was a month of many new discoveries but also of repurchases of old favorites. I did go a little overboard (again) this time with lippies, but I love them all so no regrets here.Without further ado, let's just dive in!

Body care:

  • Nivea In-Shower Body Milk Smooth Sensation Shea Butter (DM, ~ 4 Euro) - I had the other two versions, I love the almond oil one so I had to try the new shea butter also! It smells very good, very similar with the other ones but a little bit sweeter.
  • Rexona Linen Dry 48H Active Deodorant (DM, ~ 2 Euro) - Since I've started going regularly to the gym, I need a stronger deodorant and Rexona is always a favorite of mine, it doesn't keep me from sweating but at least I smell nice!
  • Garnier Ultra Doux Aloe Vera and Vegetable Milk Softening Conditioner for all hair types (DM, ~ 3 Euro) - I bought this on a whim, thinking I should try something alse for my hair than good old Wella, but I'm not impressed at all.
  • Alverde Intensiv Handcreme Granatapfel Karitebutter (DM, ~ 1.5 Euro) - I needed new hand cream as my Cera di Cupra is almost done, but while it smells great, I don't like at all the texture of this one, is sooo oily and sticky!
Skin Care:

  • Freeman Facial Polishing Mask Charcoal & Black Sugar Dual Action Purifying mask and smoothing exfoliant (DM, ~ 4 Euro) - When I saw this at DM, I was so excited, I search for a good face exfoliant for so long and this one looks like it's going to work great!
  • Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel (Sensiblu, ~ 11 Euro) - This a rebuy, my all time favorite cleanser, I use it twice a day, every day!
  • Garnier Essentials Refreshing Cleansing Milk for normal to combined skin with detoxing grape extract (Auchan, ~3.5 Euro) - I had this a while ago and I liked it so I repurchased it again. The formula is changed, but it's good nontheless.
  • Vivanatura Face Mask with rose and activ clay (DM, ~ 1.5 Euro) - I am inlove with mask, it cleans my pores so good. I don't know why I haven't tried Vivanatura face masks before, this so useful.
  • Gerocossen Body Line Depil Strips for face with chamomile (DM, ~ 2 Euro) - I feel Gerocossen makes some good depil face strips, really handy so I've got the chamomile version...
Nail Polish:

  • Cora Nail Polish Remover (Cora, ~ 1.5 Euro)
  • Kiko Nail Lacquer #265 China Blue (gift) - Gift from Germany, my first Kiko product. Royal blue metallic.
  • Catrice Nail Polish #39 Black to the roots (gift) - Gift from Germany, my first Catrice product. Matte black nail polish.
Randoms:

  • Byphase Makeup Remover Wipes for sensitive skin with almond oil (Real, ~2.5 Euro) - I had those before, very moist, good for wiping my brushes and some emergency makeup removing.
  • Balea Repair+Pflege Express Kur (DM, ~ 1 Euro) - I love these hair treatments from Balea, this is oil based and should have a repairing and moisturing effect.
  • Septona Makeup Remover Wipes with chamomile for sensitive skin (Real, ~ .075 Euro) - Good for wiping my brushes, not much to say here.
  • Cora Maxi Oval Pads for gentle makeup removing (Cora, ~ 0.75 Euro) - I am so impressed with these one, so big and fluffy and 2 are enough for removing all my makeup. Will rebuy again!
 Makeup:

  • Smashbox Click You're It Holiday Eye Palette (StrawberryNET.com, ~ 11 Euro (sale)) - My first StrawberryNET.com order was this Smashbox palette. !5 Eyeshadow both matte and shimmers and 5 creamy liner/shadow bases. It comes without the primer. I was very impressed by the quality, very good pigmentation, color pay off, just a little fall out and loads of looks to get out of this palette. And the creams ar not dry at all, I was impressed with their intensity.

  • Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadow #060 Petrol Pan (gift) - I've got this metallic turquoise shadow from a friend from Germany.
  • Stila Sheer Color SPF 15 Tinted Moisturiser #01 Bare (StrawberryNET.com, ~ 9 Euro) - My first Stila product, was on sale and I am a tinted moisturisers freek so I had to have it. It looks very light but once it blends in it gives just a natural radiance and moisture. I loce using it mixed in with foundation or BB Cream.

  • Flormar Matte Terracotta Eye Shadow #M102 (Flormar, ~ 7 Euro) - I bought this as an eyeshadow, but I used it more as a blush. It's not entirely matte, it's got a fine shimmer sheen which gives such a nice radiant look.

  • L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Waterproof Mascara (DM, ~ 8 Euro) - Believe it or not, this is the first mascara from L'Oreal I've ever tried so I thought to give it a shot.
  • Rimmel London Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint # 014 Manganise Purple (DM, ~ 6 Euro) - I normally don't like these types of liquidy lipgloss like eyeshadow bases, but I've watched Tati rave about them so I've bought Manganse Purple.

  • Rimmel London Wake Me Up Anti Fatigue Effect and Radiant Glow Concealer #Classic Beige (DM, ~5.5 Euro) - I had the Wake Me Up foundation for a while so I thought to give the concelear a try as I was in need of an undereye one.
Lips:

  • Avon Ultra Color Absolute Lipsticks #Warm Honey, Creamy Melon and Tea Rose (Avon, ~ 3.5 Euro) - I haven't got Avon lippies in a while so I was curious about the quality of these one. I'm not dissapointed at all, they are all so creamy, a little sheer in color but buildable. Looking forward to trying out new shades!

  • Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick # Electric Orange (DM, ~ 4.5 Euro) - I've just wanted an orange lipstick for spring and got this one on sale. Very bright, very resistant and creamy, just a little streaky.
  • Rimmel London Kate Moss Matte Lipstick #107 (DM, ~ 4.5 Euro) - This is my first dark lipstick and I quite like it. It's a deep red, wine shade and it's wearable.
  • Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick #Lust for blush (DM, ~ 4.5 Euro) - I wanted to try out this collection and I've got Lust for blush, a nice rose, baby pink shade which look very natural on the lips.

  • Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Gloss #Cashmere Rose (DM, ~ 4.5 Euro) - Very wearable pink-coral shade, not too shimmery or matte, just a great topper for many lispticks I own.
  • Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick #Passionate Red (DM, ~ 4 Euro) - I love lip pens, I want to try more lip color so I bought this vibrant red shade with nice golden warm undertone. Perfect for a more daring look!
  • Rimmel London Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Stay on lip contouring pencil #049 Natural (DM, ~ 3 Euro) - I'm not into lip pencils at all, but this one is plain nude and it will work great with my nude lipstick and it will help softening brighter colors.

Favorites of the moment (February 2014)

Hi, guys!

February is over and this can ony mean one thing, it's time for the monthly favorites! I discovered some new loves last month as I tried a lot of new products but also I just got back to some old favorites. Let's just get on with them!

Skincare:

Freeman Facial Polishing Mask Charcoal and Black Sugar Dual-action purifying mask and smoothing exfoliant is one my new favorite skincare product, it's gentle but still ferm enough to clean all dead cells and blackheads. It did wonders for my dry patches and I love how glowing my skin looks after I put this on for about 5 minutes and then I massage it gently and rinse it off.

Elmiplant Skin Moisture 24 H Cream was a constant in my skincare routine of every day in February, it's so light and moisturising, it leaves a fresh sensation behind... It does wonder for dry patches and even undereye area which is pretty sensible.

Bodycare:

I love all Dove body washes so in February I religiously used the Dove Creme Mousse Body Wash. I can't even describe how velvety this feels and hoe rich the texture is. I don't even need to moisturise afterwards.

Balea Beruhigende HauteCreme mit Aloe Vera und Provitamin B5 is an old favorite, it does wonders for your skin after hair removing, it's so soothing and refreshing. No red spots, ingrown hairs or irritations.

Makeup:

Smashbox Click You're It Eye Shadow Holiday Palette was my holy grail in February as far as makeup looks go. Since I've received it in the first days of February, I've used it almost every day, wanting to try out all shades and also the creams. I love the great range of colors and textures, it contains mattes and shimmers, I love the light colors great for a natural quick look. I actually can pull up a lot of looks uding only this palette. I would have loved a transition matte shade, but it's no biggie. I've mostly used shades 1, 2, 4, 6, 11 and 12.

The creams are great as bases, they won't crease over primer, but also as gel liners. I feel the black is good, maybe not the best one I have but it's pretty decent. I've mosty used 16, 17 and 18.

It's a great palette and I definitely want to try out more of Smashbox' products. I' ll probably use it as often in the months to come!

Ever since I've bought Flormar Matte Terracotta Eyeshadow in M102, this gorgeous light peach-pink, I've been inlove with it, I use as a blush almost every day. It gives such a healthy glow and it goes with pretty much everything. Good job, Flormar!

I'm crazy for coppery, deep rosy colors for my eye looks, so I enjoyed so much combining Rimmel's Glam Eyes Eyeshadow in Topaz with other shades. Dry or wet, it looks great on hazel eyes.

For my eyebrows, I used daily the W7 Style Eyes Brow & Lash Shaping Gel to set them in place and it works great. No need for more expensive products, it does the job and my pretty long eyebrow hairs won't fly around.

You know my addiction to gel eyeliner so how could I not love the L'Oreal Gel Intenza Liner in Violet Black? Just take a look at the amazing color, black with purple specks that glow subtle but that they are still intense. The formula is a dream, not too dry or too creamy, it's intense and it glides on smoothly. I wear it for a whole day with no worries.

Another combo for my eyecontouring I've been sporting last month was the combination of these two liners: Sephora Contour Eye Pencil Waterproof in 33 Love Affair (deep matte plum shade) and Avon Glimmerstick Diamonds Liner in Sugar Plum (shimmery purple-plum shade). On their own, they look great but nothing too intense. But Sugar Plum on top of Love Affair looks amazing. And it holds on for more than 12 hours without smudging.

33 Love Affair, Sugar Plum

In terms of lippies, I prefered mostly nudes, light pinks and coraly shades last month. On my list was Avon Ultra Color Absolute Lipstick in Creamy Melon, Maybelline Colorsensational Shine Gloss in Cashmere Rose and Manhattan Soft Mat Lip Cream in 53M. Different textures, almost the same shade.

Creamy Melon, Cashmere Rose, 53M

For face products, along with my old favorites, I've rediscovered Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Combination to Oily Skin in Medium, great covering and glow, just a tad too dark for me (should have bought it in Light), but it works great nonetheless.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Antifatigue Effect + Radiant Glow Concelear in Classic Beige is a new favorite, I love the luminosity it gives my face when wearing it for my undereye area.

What were your last month's favorites?

Review & Swatches: Wet n Wild Mega Eyes Trio Eyeshadows #Soft Smoky

Hi ladies!

Today I have for you an oldie, but goldie eyeshadow trio from Wet n Wild, from the old Mega Eyes collection in Soft Smoky. I have this for about a couple of years, I've got it during a trip in Italy, when I had no idea what Wet n Wild was. I'm so sorry that I didn't buy more shades as now I'm dying to put my hands on more Wet n Wild eyeshadow and it sucks that they're not available in Romania (I've only say a couple of shades at www.makeup-shop.ro). Anyhow, I'll share a picture of this trio which doesn't belong to me as mine looks to bad to be in a photo, I've abused it a lot! :))

I wouldn't have believed all the hype around the newer collections from Wet n Wild if I hadn't had this trio that it's actually one of my most used eyeshadow little palette.

The packaging is actually pretty cheap looking, kind of flimsy, but honestly it does not matter as the product inside is great. The three eyeshadows come with a little sponge applicator which is actually good at smudging the black shade along lashline and a hidden little mirror on the side.

The texture of these shadows is soo amazing, better than many high end eyeshadows. They're highly pigmented, the formula is so creamy, almost buttery so the blending is a dream with these eyeshadow. There is no fall out even though these are glittery shadows. The staying power is also great, they stay on all day long with primer and without fading away.

There are no names for the eyeshadows, so I'll start from bottom up.

The first shade is a golden rose one. Very beautiful, great as the lightest shade in smokey eye but also great using on its own on the whole lid. I've hit pan, that's how much I love it, it complements my eyes so beautifully.

The middle shade is a black/very dark taupe with lots of shimmery particles. I love to use smudged along my lashline or for a smokey eyes. It's more sheer than the other two but it's buildable so you can decide the intensity of the look.

The third shade is a darker version of the first, kind of rose-taupe color. It's great for defining the crease and it works so well with the other three shades in the trio.

Overall, I can't say much more than that I really love these shades, they make me want to own all Wet n Wild eyeshadows they've ever produced! This trio it's still available online at ACW's website, I saw they still sell the old Mega Eyes trios. I know, the shipping is insane but the website has so many beauty items that we don't have in Europe that a larger order will compensate. Other retailers only sell the newer collections such as Color Icon and Fergie's.

If you're in the search of good eyeshadows and don't want to go after high end products, these Wet n Wild trios are for you. For my non-USA readers, I tell you, they really worth paying the shipping cost from USA!

Review & Swatches: Flormar Pretty Compact Blush-On #P115

Hi, ladies!

I've only recently discovered my passion for blushes, I used to have just 2-3 that I've constantly used. I've got this Flormar Blush-On duo a couple of months ago and it has becomed one of my favorites. If you live in Europe and you love being in the beauty world, you surely know about Flormar's products. It's a drugstore Turkish brand, but it was born in Milan, Italy in 1950. I was initially drawn to their wide range of nail polishes but then I started buying also eyeshadows and face products and I was not dissapointed at all.

Today I'll talk about this duo compact blush which consists of the blush itself and a highlighter/contour shade. When I first bought it, I really thought it was a highlighter, but it's definitely too dark for my skin tone, maybe for really tanned and darker skin girls this is a perfect highlighter, for me it's more of a contour shade.

Let's talk packaging first. It's plastic and very compact, good for travelling, though I feel it's prone to breaking (it happened with some similar packaging from Flormar). I like that there is 14 g of product and the pans are wide enough to dip my larger blush/contour brush in it. And it's hot pink!:))

The blush itself is a coral peach shade, with fine shimmer particles. It's not crazy pigmented, but it gives more than a subtle color to one's cheeks all the while giving also a nice radiant, healthy look. I feel it works great on my warm toned skin and it goes with most looks. For me this is the everyday blush I put on to give me that natural glowy look, especially since I use mainly mattifying face products (primer, foundation, powder).

The highlighter/contour shade was a bit of a challenge at first as it's too dark to use as a highlighter but it's also too light for a strong contouring. But I kept experimenting and now I use it as a quick, light contour powder, or it replaces my blush sometimes when all I want is a little shimmer, or I use it as an eyeshadow all over my lid, or when I'm bronzed, I use it to highlight some areas. So it's multitasking!

The staying power is pretty good, it doesn't last all day, but I usually touch my face a lot so no blush resists more than 5-6 hours on my face. But if I wouldn't have this bad and unhealthy habit, it would probably last longer.

*Sorry for the unfocused photos, I just couldn't get the blush to show up. I'll be back with an update for the photos, I promise!

You can find it at all Flormar counters (Romania) or you can use their Store Locator, I believe the price is somewhere around 5 Euro so it worths trying it if you're looking for a drugstore blush!

RO/EN:

I know many of you are interested in www.Iherb.com orders, either you're new customers or you're already old clients. I was thinking for some time to pass an order on Iherb, because they have an amazing range of orders (makeup brushes, natural products, supliments, skincare and haircare products etc.) that I've wanted for some time, for price that are more than alright, but as there were many bad reviews of unrefundable lost packages, I was kind of thorn. Finally, I've decided to make a try, after all no risk, no win!

And I did well, because I've received the order in about 2 weeks since I've placed it, it came at the postal office and I've picked it up just like I do with all my packages. About all the insights of placing an order on Iherb I won't insist as Diana (Boondy's Box) already wrote a complete and through article on the subject and I'm sure that those of you who are interested already read it. I mostly want to talk about my personal experience, maybe it will help those of you who want to pass an order on Iherb.com.

I've placed the order on 18.02, on 21.02 I was informed that it was delivered and yesterday, 6.03, I went to pick it up from our postal office. So the delivery was less than 2 weeks! At the postal office, I've picked it up as usual, no VAT, custom taxes or invoice questions, even though the package came from outside EU and it had the real value declared (without the 4 dollars for shipping).

The items came in a cardbroad box, with just a paper put inside in the empty remaining space, without other protection means. Anyway, there was nothing fragile or breakable in my order. Also there was no invoice or other document together with the products.

Before I start showing you the good stuff, I just want to say that I did a very good deal for this first order. The total of my purchases was 71.42$, for which I received a new customer discount of 10$ because I passed 40$ and I also had an extra discount of 5% because I ordered more than 60$. A total discount of 24.81$, so I've finally payed together with 4$ shipping, 50.61$.

Because I'm already their client, they gave me a discount code, SWG392, that you can use to received at your first order a discount of 5$ if your order is less than 40$ or 10$ if your order is bigger than 40$.

Acum sa trecem la the good stuff!

Now let's just get to the good stuff!

  • Nature's Gate Shampoo Biotin strengthening, 5.47$ - This was the main reason for my haul, I need a new shampoo for my thinning hair, I hope it will help with my hair loss! I used it once and I like it a lot already!

  • EcoTools Custom Coverage Buffing Brush, 6.99$ - This seems to be like Sigma's F80 cheaper version for foundation brush so I wanted to see if it's good. It has some pretty good reviews!
  • EcoTools Airbrush Concealer Brush, 3.99$ - I don't have a very good concealer brush so hopefully this will be good. It looks awfully similar to my real Techniques Deluxe Crease brush!

Hi, girls!

This past week I found myself drawn to many random new stuff, not really sticking to something particular. I feel the spring vibe and I want brighter colors, neon shades, pastel nail polishes, you name it! Here are some of my favorite picks!
