Hello, girls!
Today I'll talk a little about a product that I've kind of neglected the first time I've bought it, but I came to actually love it after I gave it another try. I'm talking about L'Oreal Sublime Fresh Skin Perfecting Purifying Toner, which is somewhat new on the Romanian market, I think it was released at the begining of last year, together with micellar water that was so raved about at that time. One thing you should know about me is that while I don't skip on my skincare, I hate using toners. Or better said a couple of year ago I used to buy them, didn't loved them, they ended up in the trash so I stoped buying. I mean I'm a fan of cleansers and make-up removers but toners are just not my cup of tea.
Well, I don't know exactly how I've ended up buying this one, maybe was just my curiosity that told to try and see if I still hate toners :)).
At the first use, I didn't liked it (obviously!), even though it cleansed well after using a make-up remover, the strong smell of alcohol and some fresh-like perfum and the well known pinching feeling made me avoid it for about 1 month.
I started using it again a couple of weeks ago as I decided to give it another try, thinking that I was biased before in thinking it's not great. Yes, the smell still bothers me and I don't like the pinching, but I have to admit it does clean my skin very well of all makeup traces that my make-up remover neglects. And I have to be very careful to avoid the eyes area as it stings...badly.
The use of a toner always seemed overated to me because of the use of make-up removers and cleansing products, but I admit my skin does feel a lot more refreshed and "clean" after I use it and the pinching goes away. And it doesn't dry out my skin like other toners have done in the past.
The only thing I don't understand it's why it claims to clean very well the eyes area even of the waterproof make-up if it also warns to avoir the eyes area (rightly though)?!? Anyway it's great for my oily T zone without drying it out, so that's good enough for me.
The packaging is identic to the micellar water, the same dosage system and the same problem, as the whole is a little too big and a lot of product may be wasted if not careful. The formula is just a clear-blue liquid that won't leave an oily skin or too dry as I've said before. As it's for normal to combined skin, I'm not sure it's suitable for those of you with dry skin as it may dry it even more.
If you're a fan of toners you should definitely try it, for me it's a good product but not one I can't live without as I've rambled this whole post, I'm not too keen on using a toner every single day. Maybe now and then when I feel my skin needs a little more cleansing and a boost of freshness.
How do you like toners? Love them or hate them?
Love at first brush
