Hello!

You might of seen this foundation in my last Empties post, but before I threw it away I remembered that I didn't review it for you guys so I quickly took some photos. Please excuse the messy bottle, it received a lot of love from me :D.

I've got this for some time and even though I still had a little product inside, I feel it's been opened for ages and I don't feel comfortable to put this on my skin as it may be already expired. So long story short, this is not in my collection anymore but I'll probably will repurchase it when I'm done with some of the foundations I currently have opened.

As always, let's talk packaging first. It's GREAT! I mean all liquid/cream foundation should be packed like this : sturdy glass bottle, clear so that you can actually see the color inside, with a small pump on top for correct dosage and hygienic purposes. Rimmel London, you got this right!

As the name states by itself, Wake Me Up claims to give that natural healthy radiant look and an anti-fatigue effect. So for those that don't get a lot of sleep and don't want anyone to notice it, this foundation is the bomb, will give that dewy effect as if you had tons of sleep and you're fresh and ready to go!

If you've read me at all, you know that I'm all for matte skin (being combo skin makes you want this) and tend to buy all face products that promise mattifying the hell out of my T zone and huge pores area. But I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try out a foundation that make some bold claims that I was totally not used to. I mean at worst, it should have made me shine as a light bulb (or break me out:D), but neither happened. I did use a blotting powder on the T zone to keep oils under control a bit so that I won't look too shiny.

The consistancy is between liquid and cream, it's not very lightweight but it's not heavy at all and it has SPF 15 and some highlighting particles. A little goes a long way so I only use a pump for all my face. I feel that with this foundation I need some pre-application preparations: I need to moisturise and scrub my skin very well before applying it as it will show the dry skin areas. Also it need more blending than other foundations I've tried before and I feel that more I blend it into my skin, the best the final result is. The trick is to have patience and do some blending work and the finish look will be flawless. I personally like to apply it using realTechniques Expert Face Brush or EcoTools Custom Coverage Buffing Brush.

Even though I'm usually lazy and hate to do so much work for a product to look good on me, I love to take the time sometimes and make my skin look flawless and radiant just like I was glowing from inside. I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone, but for my skin, in order to not look cakey, I have to take my time with it. Anyway it's a great foundation especially for those with normal skin and I like how it transforms a tern and tired looking skin into a glowing, sexy look.

Right now I'm using the Wake Me Up concealer and I quite enjoy it (review coming soon) and I'm planning on repurchase the foundation very soon but maybe in  a lighter shade. I had 103 True Ivory, but I think it's a bit too dark for my face right now.

You can find it at all Rimmel London counters, the price is around 8-9 Euro.
